Freakin great night of squatting for me. I’ve struggled in the past with getting this bulldog bar to feel right on my back and tonight i figured it out and it showed. Some the better squats I’ve probably ever done. . 683 x 1 705 x 1 Add @elitefts light reverse band 760 x 1 804 x 1 . Everything felt as good as it moved for once. GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR BULK with my 7 “laws” of bulking. . 1. ONLY START A BULK IF YOU ARE LEAN. If you’re not, news flash, your life is already a bulk and adding even more calories isn’t needed. 2. ELIMINATE SUBJECTIVITY. We can be narcissistic or totally pessimistic by nature. When it comes to self reflection few people sit in the middle of the spectrum. We can often convince ourselves progress has been made when it hasn’t or that is hasn’t been made when it really has. Get a DEXA scan or some other type of body scan at the beginning and end of your dieting phase so you can objectively assess progress after a bulking phase. 3. DON’T BE A PRETTY BOY/GIRL. If your goal is to get bigger you will have to put on some body fat. If you see your abs start to disappear it doesn’t mean you need to pull the plug on your plan and start a cutting phase. It means you have to toughen up and keep the end goal in mind. 4. HAVE A REALISTIC TIME HORIZON. Mini-cuts and bulks have their time and place but their results are as mini as their name. Bigger bulking periods equal bigger results. If you can bulk for 6, 8 or 12 months you’re going to put on some actual size instead of losing and gaining the same 5-10 pounds over and over again with short, repeated cutting and bulking cycles. 5. PACE UP. In the first few months of bulking keep an average of 1-2lb of weight gain per week, any more than that and you’ll likely be adding more body fat than needed to illicit muscle growth. The longer you bulk the less weight you should be putting on weekly so 1lb per week or even less in the end stage of the cycle is totally acceptable. 6. PACE DOWN. When it’s time to cut and reveal those new gains to the world, don’t be in a rush. If you cut too fast you’re risking losing some of the quality mass you spent so much time building. 1-2lb of weight loss per week is an appropriate rate of weight loss. 7. KEEP IT CLEAN. It may be hard to get ALL of your calories from “clean” sources, but you’re going to feel a lot better if your caloric intake is mainly comprised of quality food sources. 705 x 1 and a fucking AWESOME post from @andyfrisella that I fuckin feel right now. - I can do better . This is a thought that is always present in my mind and heart. I believe its always present in the mind of all successful/driven/motivated people . This thought is is my brain when I wake up...when I go to bed...and all times in between . Its not about material wealth . Its not about sales numbers . Its not about cars . Its not about planes . Its about a love for the battle . ITS ABOUT BEING THE FUCKING BEST....in ALL areas of my life . Its about self actualization, fullfillment of my true potential and realization of purpose....that is what success means to me . For me, I believe thats about motivating, helping & showing people they can lead the life they want . THAT is my true passion . Encouraging people to be their best self is something that I take great pride in . I feel that no matter how successful you are, what you build, how much you make you are nothing if you dont help people and make the world a better place . To me...there are very few things more noble than helping others lead a better life . Society has groomed most people to be so terrified others wont approve or believe in their dreams/goals that they dont even try . Well, I hate to break it to you, but if you dont even have enough courage to say what you really want for fear of others disapproval...your chances of making it anywhere but where you are currently are non existent . Great day of training. Coming off a a pretty gnarly sinus infection i wasn’t sure what to expect but things went well. Especially on a rack where i clipped the safety’s and got the speed wobbles a few times 😂 as @callousedhandspower would say. - Vids are in reverse order and bands add about 100lbs at lockout for anyone who wants to know. - 275 x 2 x 3 295 x 2 x 3 Stat vids 315 x 2 x 3 335 x 1 355 x 1 360 x 1 with some def left in the tank. - My forearms were super blown up today, hence the painfully slow descent on some of my initial reps. ME Lower: worked up to a max single on the bulldog bar. For those unfamiliar with this bar, it’s 65lbs and considerable bigger in diameter to the Texas squat bar and frankly just feels odd to me.
