We’re only just beginning to understand the devastation that #hurricanedorian has wreaked on the Northern Bahamian Islands. The images on the news are shocking but they don’t even begin to scratch the surface. With many parts unreachable, the death toll is due to rise into the hundreds, maybe even thousands, the survivors on the ground need our help more than ever. If you’re looking for a legitimate place to donate then you can find several sites on the @visitthebahamas website. Link in bio. Please be kind, please be human. Donate.
We’re still thinking of our friends in the #bahamas, especially the Northern Abaco Islands who have been devastated by #hurricandorian. They are in desperate need of aid! If you’re looking for a reliable place to donate you can do so through @seashepherd who have instructions directly from the Bahamian Government on what aid and supplies are needed at this time. The #johnpauldejoria is currently docked here in #cayman and taking on donations. They can carry 30 tons of supplies so please donate where you can! Anyone who’s lived through a hurricane of this magnitude knows just how life altering and devastating this situation is. Please help where you can. Link to donate in Bio.
While most of us wake up to a fairly typical day, the #Bahamas are preparing for #hurricanedorian, an extremely dangerous category 5 hurricane which is due to plow through the Northern islands later today. I know first hand how dangerous and destructive these storms are. My heart breaks for the islands such as the infamous #HarbourIsland where beauty & history could be wiped out in a day. All I can say is #StaySafeBahamas.
