Wow! Maybe not the best picture but I had a lot on my table and my plates really don’t do the colors of this gorgeous dark chocolate and cherry galette justice. This recipe is by my lovely instafriend Kathryn @cardamom.and.tea . Like almost all of her recipes I wanted to try it as soon as I saw it. This is her chocolate/cherry galette with no churn arak ice cream. The ice cream worked beautifully. I was going to try it with just some anise extract, but she had a note that the addition of the alcohol was of benefit to the texture of the ice cream. I think I remember making ice cream like this before and that the texture was not what I wanted so I added 2 tablespoons vodka, which was left in the freezer from my Martini loving guest, and one tablespoon anise extract. I loved the combination of flavors and I’ll pack out that creamy ice cream to some ouzo loving friends and get their critique.
