let them, when you stand true in your own identity & what makes you, you, their opinion means nothing, it cannot come near you.
you may still feel uneasy when you realise that they dont think highly of you. just remeber that this usually has nothing to do with you, usually has to do more with themselves.
dig deep within you, is what others say, true, kind, uplifting or assisting your growth? if the answer is no, does words that you hear where not meant for you, have nothing to do with you, you will do best just living it alone.
do what is right by you, be free & happy, dont be afraid to spread your wings.

I laugh now remembering when I first started yoga, trying to mimic all the poses in this book. I would fall away from my practice and return again. Sometimes in desperation, sometimes in joy, sometimes in anger...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then, I committed to training as a teacher, and it gave me more dedication and devotion to me practice. Over time, I’ve found it has brought balance, contentment, and happiness to my life. 🙏🏼⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So I was posting these in my stories and @crenshawca85 got all "why aren't you drawing". Anyways, I'll keep posting them here too since some people don't do IG stories.
Shading and making things look 3d is so ridiculous. Like I know this is just for the fun of drawing but my perfectionist side gets way bent out of shape in regards to the whole light and dark thing.
I'm sure this shows up in other areas of my life. How fun that I get to work with this is the playfulness of art. Nothing like telling at a piece of paper for not doing what you want. 😂
Less than 2 weeks for me to get shading down. I mean, I'm gonna keep drawing cause it's fun when it's not stressing. Wish me luck y'all.

Feeling like a Goddess in this powerful pose 💛This asana represents feminity & overcoming challenges through building strength & stability which is what I worked on in the past year.
The year entitled many random, challenging & exciting events. From moving to another foreign country with a foreign language, getting engaged, managing a business from another side of the world, traveling to new places, learning how people live & seeing the world from a different perspective to enrolling into a Yoga Therapy Program which is nearly half way completed. It is all so exciting but requires a strong mind & patience to get done, to continue, to not give up when you feel stuck, isolated, tired, disconnected & lost.When you know you need to recharche, to rebuild a better mindset are the times when yoga practice sets me back in the right direction.
In yoga therapy these poses are used for inspiration, a psychological effect, to build strength not just in the body but to mentally train to focus & sustain balance. When a student is closed off, shy, disempowered, going through something challenging & coping, they might benefit from poses that make them feel powerful, strong, stable & balanced. These poses also include :Warrior 1, 2, 3, Tree Pose, Mountain Pose or the Goddess asana illustrated above 🔆🙏 🔆🙏🔆🙏🔆🙏🔆

Tell me tell me tell me👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽on our journey back to london from paris @courtney_combs and i made a new friend who was living and working in london, court struck up a conversation with him after eavesdropping on whatever he was watching on his phone😂 and we traded niceties about what we all did for work and he was amazed that we were both making valiant efforts to pursue what we were passionate about and encouraged us both in that! and i got to thinking about how many people don’t pursue their deepest desires because they’re scared to disappoint someone else, or they don’t feel good enough, or smart enough, or they’re terrified of failure, and how many times those feedback loops have held me back. i listened to a podcast recently with @joerogan and @naval that reminded me that you can seriously do whatever it is you want to do! FORGET fear, or need to please others and certainly stop victimizing yourself. you were divinely created with something that no one else has, so SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT!!!

The calm before the crazy!! Remembering how peaceful our time away in Greece was a few months ago and channeling that as I get ready to finalise the second draft of my book 🤪. This book is so much more to me than just writing about meditation and mindfulness. As one of the few south Asian authors to get a book deal by a large international publisher it is also about representation in the world of wellness. As I look at my own book shelf I realise how few women of color and especially south Asian women are given a platform to write about yoga and meditation in the mainstream. This book is bigger than me and I feel the divine writing through me as I know I could never make these deadlines otherwise with everything else I have going on 😂🙌🏾🙌🏾💯. Grateful for the opportunity and also grateful to be smashing through those glass ceilings and advocating for more authentic representation and voices in this space 🙏🏾❤️ #meditation#mindfulness#yoga#representationmatters#authorsofinstagram#woc

This pose strengthens the arms, wrists, abdomen, legs, spine. Basically the whole body!

It sounds stupid but before yoga.. I had no idea how to breathe. Learning to master your breath can effect your whole life! You take control of your anxiety and worry by taking control of the connection between your mind and body using breath.
This has taught me how to be content with myself and I’m so beyond excited to share the lessons I have learnt through yoga in the new year with those willing to join me 💕❤️

¿Y tú, cómo te comunicas con tu CUERPO? 🥴
Mucho tiempo viví desconectada de él, me dolía algo y corría al doctor en busca de algún medicamento que me quitara el dolor, esto ayudó bastante pero al observar que mis síntomas, el dolor de estomago, espalda, las gripas, dolores de cabeza, se repetían frecuentemente me di a la tarea de buscar medicina alternativa... cómo quien dice volví a los remedios de mi abuelo que ahora entiendo era todo un brujito, tenía una conexión increíble con las plantas y ahora se que todo eso forma parte de esos increíbles regalos que te heredan tus ancestros.
En esta búsqueda comenzaron a llegar libros y personas que hablaban de como las emociones están directamente relacionadas con las enfermedades manifestadas en el cuerpo, así que me entró la curiosidad de saber más. El yoga y la meditación se volvieron mi principal canal de conexión con él, empecé a mejorar mis hábitos de nutrición, tener más contacto con la naturaleza y hacer más uso de las plantas y las esencias, aún estoy en este camino de seguir depurando, sanando y nutriendo mi cuerpo, fueron bastantes años de hábitos no saludables, emociones tóxicas y ejercicios extremos que lo llevaron al límite.
Esta aventura me llevó a abrirte mi corazón y compartirte lo que recordé a través de cada meditación y diálogo con mi cuerpo, además de contarte los remedios chamanes del abuelo.
En la actualidad existen muchas terapias, disciplinas y experiencias para comunicar con él... una de mis meditaciones favoritas es la meditación en movimiento, por eso es aquí donde te comparto cómo puedes comunicarte con él a través de tus 5 sentidos y con ayuda de la aromaterapia profundizar en los sonidos, mensajes, sensaciones, imágenes y olores que te envía el cuerpo con el nombre de síntoma, emoción, malestar o sensación.🧘🏻♀️🧘🏻♂️ ¿Te gustaría vivir la experiencia de comunicarte con tu cuerpo? 🙋🏻♀️ Próximamente Taller “Escucha, depura, nutre y sana tu cuerpo a través de los 5 Sentidos”
