Each Tuesday I’m going to be putting 1 yoga under the microscope, sharing tips and cues I use as a teacher and watch points to be aware of (remember these are just my teaching tips I use as a yoga teacher. There is no right or wrong way to teach yoga) .
THE INTENTION OF THE POSE ✨ .
💙Warrior 3 is pose that creates the energy of strength, capability and confidence within and helps to build strength in the core, hips and legs. .
WATCH POINTS ✨
💙 Hips lifting - the back extended leg hip may externally rotate and lift slightly.
💙 Hyper extending standing leg - straightening the knee joint too much.
💙 Gaze lifted which then causes the neck to lift.
💙 Hands and extended foot floppy - just because we don’t tend to think of them.
💙 Spine either arched or hunched with ribs protruding - relying on low back for stability.
TIPS TO TRANSFORM✨
💙To check hips place fingers on Hip bones to feel if they’ve lifted
💙Micro bending the standing leg.
💙Gaze ahead of you downwards will create length through neck.
💙Active hands and foot which basically means pointed or stretched (when I first taught my sister @_mariadacosta and used this term she was like “wtf are active hands Ess??” Thsnks for teaching me this lesson sis).
💙By drawing tummy to spine lifting pelvic floor and engaging your deep TVA muscles (imagine wearing a corset) you will prevent your ribs from popping out and back over or under arching .
