We are constantly being bombarded with information 24/7. Through our interactions and our day to day experiences. And they all come from a source. So let’s pause and make sure that we consider these sources. The news, the advice, the knowledge, the opinions...where are they coming from and who is the presenter? What is their motivation, what is their goal? What is their objective? The words of the day are source and hear. We want to and should be open to all of this but may we keep in the back of our minds an awareness and a somewhat skepticism. It can be a lot to take things at straight face value. It’s not in our nature. We should and want to question things that we hear and learn. Isn’t that how we grow and learn and contribute?
A simple flow with movement matched to music is so fulfilling for me. It has been months since I’be done BUTI yoga. I miss it, but I’m not sure I can go back. I was having inflammation in my neck and lower spine. This, however, gives me a similar feeling of creative freedom and musicality. A little clip from my flow tonight. As hard as we are working on opening our studio doors in a few weeks, quick reminder that we started off with 𝘆𝗼𝗴𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 and we will continue to provide that service.
Flowing through my Slow Burn class from tonight. This was basically all the movement I got in today. Movement is so beneficial to my physical and mental health, that when I don’t get a full practice in I start telling myself it wasn’t a good day. BUT, I’m here to remind myself that movement is good but I should not attach my happiness for the day solely to practicing. I felt the need to move , and today this was all I was able to fit in.
Let’s treat ourselves with more compassion.

Sheesh.. what a year! And there are still some months to go. I’ve felt almost every emotion on the spectrum and in all its different shades. With all the good I came to celebrate, there were equally as much rough times.
I am so proud of myself and all my friends still cruising through the storm. It’s been such a crazy year for many of us. If this is you right now, celebrate yourself! Celebrate how far you’ve come and be grateful for all the little things you already have.. and grow, baby. Grow! 🌳

Sometimes you don’t know of what are you capable of until you try it. To be honest I never imagen myself in full middle split like this 😄 but suddenly @sfreneenyc had this crazy idea and I was like .... oookk 🤔😅 I’ll give it a try 🙈Honestly I don’t remember exactly
how I did to climb into this, I asked Renee to help me, like carry me or something 😜😜😜 like in my mind it was an impossible move. She said, you should try first and then we’ll see. So I did, I can only remember been super aware of my breathing, moving super slowly, really focus and very careful on my muscles engaging here and there, and trying to burn all mental fear, changing my inner vibration and my thoughts into “yes I can do this” 💪🏽 and suddenly I was up into full #upavisthakonasana 🤩😍🙌🏽 Such a gorgeous moment! ❤️ Thank you Renee!!! Now I want to do this everywhere 😃✌🏽😆🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️
Releasing fear and doing something new and challenging feels really really good ☺️🧘🏽♀️✨it is the only way to go beyond your limits 🙏🏽

Isn’t it interesting that there are so many ideas out there about what could “injure” us and are labeled “bad” or “misaligned” which actually are the things that have helped to heal many of the injuries I’ve sustained and were actually exacerbated and further weakened by avoidance. I want to practice to prepare me to meet life...where my ankle may not land directly over my knee, where my shoulders are often not over my wrists....I want to work by body to be resilient and meet the unpredictability of life. #asanaforreallife#yogastrength#vinyasa#yogainspiration#yogaflow#yogainspiration
Play, flow and fly tomorrow, Friday, September 20, at 7:00pm, in our BGC studio, with my buddy, @realdiehlyoga, a Chicago-based yoga teacher and mixed martial artist. He is leading a donation-based practice to get you moving and finding flight, for a cause that is so incredibly close to my heart. ❤
All proceeds of this class will go to The Little Children's Home in Taytay, Rizal - an orphanage that is run by my midwife, @deborahgustafson, and is committed to providing a loving and nurturing home for children in crisis, advocating for their needs to ensure that every child has a forever family.
We look forward to practicing and sharing space with you tomorrow, so come through!
