We'd been keeping in front of a hunting cheetah in amongst the burnt bushes when we came across this reedbuck sitting in the sun. The cheetah couldn't see the reedbuck and the reedbuck couldn't see the cheetah. But as soon as the reedbuck got a whiff of the cat scent, it's ears pricked up and it became very nervous. It went from sitting to fleeting in one second flat and took off. Even at that moment, it still couldn't see the cheetah but it must have heard it catch a rabbit (we found it a few minutes later). Life preservation in the wild is paramount.
