Our day out at la Grotta della Poesia is perhaps one of my new favorite beach days in recent memory. We stretched out on the rocky coastline shore, caught up on our beach reading, jumped into one of the many inlet pools connected via caves and listened to a group of locals sing while playing the accordion and tambourine. It’s exactly how I pictured an idyllic Italian summer afternoon — and it made for the perfect start to our road trip.
It has already been a few weeks since this photo was taken. Every day my studio is becoming more and more of a favorite space (even more so now that a skylight has been put in [a few feet above that mirror]).
It still feels unreal, having this space to work, to think, to experiment and create something new. •
When we lived in Manhattan, I quite literally just had a windowsill to work on. I would attach my bench-pin and anvil to the ledge and work away. Then, when a couple of years ago we moved to Troy, I took over our dining table. It felt great to stretch out. Now, I have an entire room with THREE tables and four work surfaces in total. •
It might be small as far as rooms go, but oh does it feel luxurious. I'm so grateful for this life and the wonderful people that help me make it what it is. •
Thank you, friends.
There’s photos of me here as a litter tucker way back in the early 90s with my beautiful family. 🎞 My outfit was definitely not as stylin’ as this one (obsessed with this knit and pant combo from @showpo!), but both times were just as fun! 🙌🏼💥 How incredible is this outback landscape?! ☀️
