Happy birthday to the r160s. I have a love/hate relationship with your abundance and annoying LED route lights; but you’re practical and so far efficient. Took this yesterday around 5pm. In my opinion, no train looks better in the rain than the (N). Prove me wrong. .
Work is finally underway on NYC’s new Korean Cultural Center building at 122 East 32nd Strett near K-town (👉🏾). Its dynamic design by SAMOO Architects, features a transparent layering of swooping forms that encase culturally-referenced figures within. The 33,000-SF building will accommodate offices, a 200-seat theater, artist studios, exhibition space and a library. Full story in the profile link. @SAMOO_Architects_official
Reopening night of @aquavitnyc An amazing Scandinavian restaurant in Midtown, Mnahattan. The kitchen is headed by 2 Star Michelin Chef Emma Bengtsson @emma._bengtsson I was here last year for dinner w a couple of friends and had their chefs menu which was Out-of-this-world! It is in my top 3 culinary experiences if not the best! I highly recommend putting it on your culinary bucket list. After a 4 month remodeling the bar area and lounge are open w the main dinning area opening soon. I also got to meet Emma who is really sweet. Had a great conversation with their bartender and Sommelier Benjamin, @curiousimbiber ,who provided great insight into the makings of their dishes and cocktails. Their cocktails include items used in the kitchen to support sustainability & source from local producers as much as they can. I had the crab fritters w an espellete aioli dip, the cod fish sandwich along w a couple of amazing cocktails. Fritters were light and perfect to have with a drink. (Espellete is a pepper from the French commune of Espelette which borders Basque region of Spain.) The cod sandwich was a sight to behold! It's a hearty sandwich served w fries. I've never seen a brioche bun with such a glaze! It was perfectly cooked with the right amount of crust. When cut in half, the sandwich did not crumble. The fish was fresh, light and flaky. The apple remoulade and horseradish in between gave it the right amount of layering. Really wanted to try the desserts, but was getting late and needed to head out. They sound great! The cocktails I had were the Guldhãmen & French Garden. Both were great and will be featuresd on Cocktail Tuesdays.
Put this spot on your culinary bucket list and be prepared to be wowed by a 2 star Michelin Chef! Can't wait to go back!
Make a pact with yourself today to not be defined by your past. Sometimes the greatest thing to come out of all your hard work isn’t what you get for it, but what you become for it.
