Running in the summer heat is the hardest. Hot and humid even in the morning before the sun breaks through the fog. This is also the season for horse flies who love the thought of taking a bite out of a sweaty runner passing by. 😯
The marathon training is getting serious with less than 3 months to go. But these are the runs that count. By October you are either ready or you are not. There's no catching up. If you try to pile on too many miles in September you will get injured, especially as you get older.
I'm raising money for cancer research again. You can go to fredsteam.org and search for ""glenn"" if you want to donate. Last year i was running in memory of many family members i had lost.
But i was also running for 2 who were in the middle of fighting cancer: 1 a lifelong friend, the other my boss, one of the smartest and nicest people you could know. They are both gone now. But I'm not stopping. Take care of yourself.
See my profile for more information how you can help in the research to understand, treat and prevent cancer. The money raised by fred's team goes to more forward-looking, breakthrough type trials. .
One of the coolest Putt Putt (and other outdoor activities) places we have been to! Pirates Cove Adventure Golf! It was lots of fun! And we finished the course right before the rain hit. 💪 (2 days ago, we’re behind on posts, what’s new. Haha)
