Upper body accessory day! Fairly short and simple one today. Just getting in some extra work for chest, shoulders, and arms! Started with ascending triples on 2 board bench press. Definitely should have gone a little easier but I haven't had heavy bench as the session focus in ages and my inner gym bro came out. Pretty stoked with how it went. Hit some basic seated overhead press and some light work for arms and shoulders. Do you even pull-up? Yes, I can do traditional pull-ups BUT I’ve given myself a challenge of learning a ton of variations of pull-ups. I’m starting by learning the basics of each movement and slowly graduating from there. After finishing a couple conditioning circuits, I did this combo for 6 rounds until I almost ripped a callus off. So I had to call it a day! My lats were 18 kinds of fired up after all this. So... do you want to get better at pull-ups? Do more pull-ups. 💪🏽 PROGRESS & HOW I BUILT UPPER BOD

when I first started lifting, my goal wasn’t really to have ‘guns’ or even have visible upper body muscles, I just wanted to tighten & tone my entire body. After a few months of consistent training I started seeing some baby biceps and delts form & it all just started from there 🤷🏽‍♀️ here is how I built upper body muscle over the past year and a half:
🏋🏽‍♀️Include heavy compound lifts in your upper body workouts: think bent over rows, bench press and variations, Arnold press, military press, etc. These target multiple upper body muscles at the same time
🗓Train upper body multiple times a week. Make sure you are not neglecting your back/chest/arms/shoulders!
💪🏽Include supersets in your upper body workouts (2 exercises back to back with no break). It creates a crazy pump & saves time !
🍗EAT - I was not eating enough before & my muscles just wouldn’t grow. It took increasing my macros and calories to see my muscles get larger and my the weights I can hit got higher as a result !
Didn't focus on my upper body at all this week so today's workout was much needed. Also, I haven't done upper body exercises with free weights in the longest time!! Missed it all so much. AND loved working out with @aa_health today!!! Can't wait for more sweat sessions together :)) .

Finally back at the gym after a stressful week of school! We couldn’t do as many things as we wanted to because we had homework due that night. But of course we got our bagel fix!! (It’s a tradition) 
The college life has us losing 15lb not gaining the freshman 15😅 the food out here wack! We’ve been lacking on eating our veggies too lol, sorry mom 
Make sure to warm up before you start any workout!

1. Couching lat pulls (key is to focus pulling with your lats and not rear delts)
2. Lateral delt raise (keep elbow sightly bend and imagine pulling with it rather than with your hand)
3. Lateral dual handle lat pulldowns (spread the lats as you pull down and on the negatives while keeping constant tension)
4. Underhand front delt raise (utilize the delt to pull not your biceps)
5. Kneeling pulls
6. Crouching dual handle tricep extensions
7. Dual handle front delt raises w Y raise combo
8. Low pulley bent over row to lower belly
9. Bar shoulder presses
10. Chest flies w bicep curl combo, mid pulley

I’m starting to master the narrow grip ones now doing more reps per set, just the wide grip pull ups require a little more work! But this girl is always looking for ways to progress and areas to improve on and I love a challenge and wide grip pull ups are just that they require both strength and focus when completing the movement.
