Got out today for the Highlander Assault race for the first time and it did not disappoint! We hit the 4 Mile Open with 20 obstacles for the inaugural outing. I was aiming for an under 60 min time and nailed that well! Highlander has selected a great location for their event incorporating an excellent mix of flat grass areas, tons of hilly choppy sections, forest and swamp areas, and water areas, one of which was a swim obstacle. The "standard" obstacles consisted of a lot of various climbing structures which I personally love. Also, an Atlas stone carry, "Caber Carry" long log carry, and their signature Long Bow archery shoot and rig. All of these combined to make a hugely interesting, fun, and challenging race. Topping of the day with a reward of some THE best pizza around!
