Picture It is a complete 4 weeks of daily stories we use to practice visualization and comprehension skills. Each month the stories are related to holidays/events during the month. I have used these for morning work and reading center work during reading rotations . Recently added was the month of November. You can grab a bundle with September to November. These packets are truly a labor of love . My hope is you find them as useful as I do.😁😁😁
Restart is a chapter book that will make you think! It starts off with Chase, an 8th grader who excels in every sport he tries. Chase is a big man on campus but everything changes when he falls off the roof, goes into a coma, and wakes up with no memory of himself. Turns out, Chase was the worst kind of bully. Now, he must choose who he really wants to be, who his true friends are, and what kind of life he wants to have. This book is fast paced, thought provoking, and at times so funny! #chapterbooks#childrensbooks
Happy Monday! These kids sure are happy. Why? Because they've discovered circus skills!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What's your favourite circus toy? Juggling balls, hula hoops, staff, poi or juggling scarves? Or maybe you love balancing with human pyramids? Tell us what you love the most.
If you like us online then you would LOOOOVE us in person! Invite us to your next PD session for fun and learning. Let us show you how to incorporate law school critical thinking strategies into what you're already teaching! (Or how to incorporate thinking about real life legal cases using our curriculum!) Check out our website for more information (Link in bio)

Today I went out and lived. For a whole half a day, I did what I WANTED to do. I cheered until my voice was gone, I high-fived strangers, and I danced as if I was the only one in the stadium.
Teachers, parents, students, and everyone in between, TAKE TIME FOR YOU! I put myself on the back burner for far too long, and this year I made a vow to myself to never do that again. Today I lived, and I’m so excited to keep it going. •
Side Note: We were in the “Home of the Redskins,” but #CowboysNation showed up and showed out 😉🤸🏽♂️
I don’t know how, but I was completely unaware of the evacuation of nearly 500,000 people by boats after the attacks on September 11th. Maybe I knew and forgot. Maybe I never knew in the first place. Either way, I’m 31 and this seems to be brand knew information to me, so I purchased this book for my students and for me, in hopes we all learn something! Hopefully I’ll get the chance to share this with my kids early this week, so we can honor another group of heroes. 💙❤️
🤫🤫🤫 I’ve been keeping a fun announcement a secret from y’all. BUT today’s the day I’m taking the leap and publishing it! .
Introducing: exceptional elementary thematic extension activity packs!! I’m making a GROWING BUNDLE of thematic units of interactive and hands on learning activities! Each unit will contain thematic puzzles, a board game, sensory bin pieces and ideas, independent work and an art activity! .
My first themed unit is already posted and it’s an all about families theme!
The plan is to add one unit a month for the rest of the year!! Each unit will be $6 individually but if you buy it in the “growing bundle” stage aka now you can pay $6 ONCE and then get alllllll the 8 other units for free when they’re posted. Aka you’ll save $48 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Check the link out to see the future planned units and SWIPE to see all that’s included in this one (which will be the format of everything else I add!). Also I am not skilled at product photography but I am REALLY proud of this product! It meets the need for interactive, engaging and hands on activities I’ve found seriously lacking in the sped curriculum world. This purchase is the perfect supplement for the more classic reading or math only packs I’ve seen. Also the themes are all common gen ed themes so this is a great way to help your students access core curriculum!! .
Also it wouldn’t be a product kickoff announcement with a GIVEAWAY 😉Tag a friend who needs to know about this below! Everyone who tags a friend will be entered to a GIVEAWAY of the growing bundle. Tag more friends in separate entries for more chances to win!! For every 25 comments I’ll pick ONE winner! Giveaway closes tomorrow at 3 PM! .

POP-BOTTLE ECOSYSTEMS: Original with a Twist + New and Improved! ☀️🌿🌊🐟🐌 *LINK IN BIO* I updated my @teacherspayteachers product to include a lesson plan, instructions for 3 different types of ecosystem projects, two different worksheets, and a STEM challenge 🎉 (Download again if you already purchased before today 😊) I realized this weekend, after talking to a coworker that wants to do this activity Monday aka tomorrow, that I needed to include another way to incorporate 2-liter bottles to create these ecosystems. Why? Because 1. they are affordable and two: they are a great way to recycle ♻️ plastic bottles and use them for a purpose! 👏🏼 SO, drumroll...I introduce the Pop-Bottle Ecosystem: Original with a Twist = Baby Fish and Snails 😍😍😍 I was inspired by the baby fish and snails that are overtaking my classroom 🤣
Baby Molly fish are SO tiny and they love to travel together! Baby snails also are super tiny! I originally chose these critters for my new and improved ecosystem project because Molly fish do not get too big and they like to live in groups. The water snails are great because they eat algae and waste + thrive in pretty much any aquatic environment (just make sure to put only a snail or two so that you do not have an overpopulated ecosystem of snails that takes over)! <—another important ecosystem conversation
I feel like students learn so much when they are actively participating in learning experiences and what better way to bring ecosystems to life then to create one of your own! 🎉 I absolutely love this hands-on activity and hope that you all enjoy it too! 💚💚💚 #science#ecosystem#fish#snails#pond#handsonscience#iteachscience#scienceiscool#handsonlearning#lovelearning

Part of growing as a writer is recognition that you have lots to say. Here are a few questions that nudge writers to say a little more: ⠀
“Could you say more about that?” ⠀
“What do you mean by . . .?”⠀
“Could you explain what you mean by . . . ?⠀
“What is another thought you have about that?” ⠀
“What else does that make you think about?” ⠀
(Help here from Carl Anderson’s awesome book, “How’s It Going?”)⠀

One of the most important things we can do to improve writing skill is to cast off our doubts. A confident writer approaches the page with an enthusiastic: “I’ve got this.” It’s no good fearing the attempt. You can’t edit a blank page!

Something that always amazes us when we teach our program is how EASY it is to write with children who want to be there. The truth is, children WANT to tell their stories. The key is to teach and encourage in a way that allows it.

This post from @curriculumcoffee tugs right at our hearts!
Writers need CHOICE.
Choice does not mean we sacrifice curriculum.
Choice does not mean free for all.
Choice means we honor student voice and interest. It empowers both writer and teacher.
Choice is the foundation of our program. We hope your children are lucky enough to be in classrooms that feel the same.
Aaaaand if your child happens to be in a classroom that doesn’t understand this, celebrate all the goodness of the classroom they DO have and keep providing opportunities for beautiful and positive writing experiences in other ways. It matters!

One of our favorite camp memories is a little girl who walked into the lobby on the first day of camp and said, “There it is. I’ve been trying to remember what it looked like.” Her mom said this returning camper had made a paper chain counting down the days until camp started again. ❤️

While your children are young, do all you can to surround them with the best opportunities and company—so when they can choose for themselves, beauty feels like home.
Our first pop up of the school year is September 7that Westminster College. It will be beautiful (and fun!) Registration link in the bio.

When writer is struggling, making a “this much” challenge on a piece of paper can give them the nudge they need. Don’t fill up the whole page, just try “this much.” Sometimes they’re done. Sometimes they can’t stop.
