I've finished #justkids by #pattismith and I have to say I think this might just be the best autobiography I've ever read. It made laugh and cry and scream on the top of my lungs...It showed me what it means to be an artist and how much my generation has failed in that aspect. Yes the #sixties and #seventies in #nyc were the hard and drug induced but they also brought forward some of the greatest artists that have ever walked this earth. This book has some serious name dropping going on and I couldn't stopped thinking: I was born in the wrong time. (I mean she knew Allen freaking Gingsberg)The artist has always seen a certain amount of tragedy in art and creation but most of all they strive to find beauty and true salvation. I don't know if I make any sense so I might come back later to write a proper review.
Thank you Patti Smith for this beautiful story and for all the other things you've created. I loved your and Robert's work before I read this book but now I was honoured enough to see even more of your beautiful friendship.
What to do when your crazy boss wants to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing?
