So I did share a little #wip piece for #burntjune, but I wanted to share another to show the progression and what the prep work can be. This is a custom piece I finished up that is waiting for its owner to pick up, so I don't want to share the final piece yet. .
But from left to right:
printed in grayscale,
converted to drawing using @rapidresizer,
transferred the template to the wood with graphite paper and pencil,
and lastly the burning. .
The set up, the sanding and prepping of the wood, the template all take a lot of work as well. It's time and sometimes you mess up and have to start all over again! Thanks again @woodburncorner and @walnuthollow. I may be cheating having two, but wanted to share more about the prep work and all that goes into burning a piece. It's handmade, it's custom, it's made with love, time, energy, not a machine, not mass produced, it means something to the artist and the recipient. That's why it's so important to support local and small!
This was about a month ago.
In the space of creation ✨ One of my biggest woodburning piece....yet
Can't wait to reveal it once done. So much into it ✨🌕☀️🌏 Amazing flow 🙏 .
