If you have been following our rescue- you know we have been trying to get to the bottom of Eli's chronic cough- between scopes and meds and so many visits to the internal medicine vet. He has been on a high dose of pred to help his bronchial collapse and recently switched to flovent-which is a inhaled steroid. We are hoping we could reduce the oral steroid that could weaken his immune system and cause other complications. The good news is his cough has gone away after being on the flovent for 10 days- the bad news is he ended up being in the er last night-the next post will be the update from that event.
Eli's flovent costs $500 per bottle- but we felt if it would give him a better chance at life and being able to play without coughing and going for walks- it was worth a try.
