😎FUCK KEVIN😎 This is the beauty of powerlifting. You’re there alongside your brothers in iron, ready to hurl yourselves into the meat grinder. Anything can happen. Muscles are ripped from the bone. Backs are broken. You look about you and you see nervousness quietly expressed by the tremble of hands, or a restless foot. You see grim slashes of pain and determination written into their features. You see prayers, chanting self affirmations, roars of triumph and the agony of defeat. You’re competing, but you feel the bond between your brothers. You see people at their best when the give their all. -

For how aggressive I am in training, I lift with joy in competitions. They are the best days of my life. Every time I travel I get to enjoy experiences people never get to taste in ordinary life. The highs I get both on and off the battlefield are memories that will last a lifetime. This was just a candid moment, and probably the only time anyone saw kev smile all day. Its not posed or flattering but its one of my favourite pics. It just captures some of the raw vibes of the day. I saw kevin in pain after the bench and I wanted to help. Even if it was just a few words of encouragement. We were going head to head, but at the end of the day I wanted him to be at his best. I always want to see him to do well. Iron sharpens iron. -

When the chalk settled, the blood dried, walking away from that platform into the sunset felt special. A feeling came over me that anything is possible, that the future will usher in something brighter than I’ve ever known. Sometimes all you need in life is that feeling to unlock a life for yourself that you could never have dreamed of. Yesterday I did some deadlifts I was actually pleased with for the first time in a while. Maybe I will pull a PB again at some point after all.

Not a million miles away from competition now, so everything will get horrible again soon I assume.

Leggo di tante persone che rimandano le gare perché non se la sentono, perché non hanno la forma perfetta, perché perché perché. Anche per me vale lo stesso ma adesso sono in corsa e devo correre. Sento il tempo scorrere velocissimo e bene o male devo stargli dietro. Devo correre e non sentire la stanchezza, devo fare fare fare, continuamente fare.

Form update couple days ago @ 74.0kg 🥳 But my body weight is only at this number if I ate less the evening before. So it‘s not my general „wake up shape“, too. #reality But I very like it anyway. I would say that’s my best form so far at 74kg, yes it is! 🧡 #bestshape

Ich merke, dass ich im Moment einfach die beste Form habe. Mal ein Kilo mehr, mal eins weniger. Vor dem Bild wog ich glatte 74kg (paar Tage her). Nicht jeden Morgen sehe ich so aus, das nur mal am Rande gesagt. Das tut im übrigen kaum jemand! Je nachdem was man die Tage oder den Vorabend so isst, schwankt auch das Optische. Ich bin sehr zufrieden, dennoch versuche ich auf knapp unter 74kg vor der Deutschen zukommen und den Rest regel ich nun durch einen kleinen Watercut ein paar Tage vorher und dann sollten meine glatten 72kg kein Problem mehr sein. 🧡

Also, grundlegend ist das erstmal relativ egal. Wichtig ist, dass du deine Übung machst.

Kleine, feine Abweichungen gibt es dennoch.
Bei der Variante mit Kurzhanteln ist man vom Schwerpunkt etwas flexibler. Sollte das Gleichgewicht verloren werden, können die Gewichte entweder fallen gelassen, oder schnell in eine sichere Position bewegt werden.
Zudem ist Griffkraft gefragt und wird gefördert, sie kann jedoch auch limitieren.
Gerade ab Gewichten ab 80kg (also 2x40kg KH) wird das Halten oft zur größeren Aufgabe als die Übung an sich (falls ihr sie trotzdem SO machen wollt, klappt der Hook Grip hier wunderbar). Die meisten Studios besitzen für noch höhere Lasten meist "nur" Kurzhanteln bis 50kg.
Weiterer kleiner Pluspunkt: durch das permanente Halten macht ihr auch ein bisschen was für eure Schulterstabilität.

Alternativ tut es auch die Langhantel, die um einiges besser und schwerer zu beladen ist.
Sie zwingt ebenso zu noch mehr Fußspannung (sei stabil oder stirb) und man kann sich etwas mehr auf die Beinarbeit fokussieren, da die Last sicher aufliegt.
Führt die Option bitte (wenn möglich) im Cage mit Sicherheitsstreben aus. Das Abwerfen nach vorn oder hinten ist hier nämlich wirklich ungünstig und birgt somit ein gewisses Verletzungsrisiko.

Ich persönlich nutze beide Varianten: KH bei 10er Sätzen und die LH bei 6ern (PR sind 6er mit 80kg 🙃❤), wobei mir letzteres WESENTLICH mehr Freude bringt.

Riding high on my recovery i hit 140kgs for a comfortable 10 reps which is my personal best so far while @ashmit_29 followed my programming n continued with 140kgs for 5 sets of 4💜💜💜
This is exactly the same weight which he could do only for singles a few weeks back n now here he is repping volumes🙆

Learning to ❤ the things that cause you so much frustration is the hardest part of getting to your goals. I want to be so good at these pause squats but they are so hard. I have to do 2 long pauses below and just above parallel. My depth perception was right off, I kept dropping my chest and shifting my weight to my forefoot. My legs felt like they were gonna 💣. They were a 🚂 wreck.

Last time i did these i wasn't pausing long enuf. So, after failing my last rep on my 1st set and having to restack the bar from scratch cause I can't clean 80kgs lol, I grabbed hubby to spot me just in case my legs couldn't get me back up......urgh not very successfully though. We need to work on our communication skilz in that department. So instead he was given the job of calling out my pause time. I like his Mississippi's about as much as my coach's.🕰💪

150kg for 4 reps. Today was the last heavy training  in my “strength” cycle, 80% from max should have been 140kg 4*4 but i decided to go for 150 in second set. Looked ugly but i benched it, sets with 140 where way cleaner. Next week i will start a 5 week “peak” cycle and will start putting my old benchpress shirt on gotdammit.

 150 на 4. Сьогодні було останнє важке тренування «силового» циклу, 80% 4 по 4, мало бути 140кг але другим підходом вирішив втиснути 150. Косо-криво-з-відбивами але втиснув, підходи на 140 були чистішими. З наступного тижня вже буде 5 тижневий цикл виходу на пік, треба буде зменшувати навантаження, забирати підсобку(присяди і тяги певно теж) і вдягати свою стару катану.
