Sorting is an early math skill. In some preschool programs early math is about learning numbers and quantity, but there's much more to it. When children understand that things are: -alike and different -they can belong to certain groups -and organised into particular groups. Getting practice with sorting at an early age is important for numerical concepts and grouping numbers and sets. Importantly this type of thinking starts them on the path of applying logical thinking to objects, mathematical concepts. #math#montessori#sort#categories#play#learn#preschool#parenting www.mudgeerabamontessori.com

Tolong Aamiin kan do'a ini :
Ya Allah! Berkahilah usia kami, sehatkanlah tubuh kami, terangilah hati kami, mantapkanlah iman kami, bantulah kami memperbaiki amalan kami, luaskanlah rezeki kami, dekatkanlah kami pada kebaikan dan jauhkanlah kami dari keburukan, kabulkanlah kebutuhan kami baik dalam agama, dunia, dan akhirat. Sesungguhnya Engkau Maha Kuasa atas segala sesuatu. .
Renungan @sahabatsurga .
(QS. al-Baqarah : 201). .

‘Only sometimes mom?’ my son delivered, with a wry sideways glance in the way only teenagers can. He was responding to a story I was telling him of a time I made a hard, but right, decision. I was trying to impress him (always!) when I had said, ‘I know how to swim upstream sometimes.’
Picking up what he was throwing down- in observing that I am no stranger to swimming against the current- I added, ‘going with the flow is important when it resonates closely enough to your own internal rhythms, and if things begin to feel out of sync then it’s important to know how to move in the direction that feels like the right one for you.’
Knowing when to go with the flow and when to swim against the current can serve our needs for belonging, and also honor our desire to express our individuality. 🐟
Finding the right balance can be a challenge, but can also be an essential ingredient in the recipe of healthy happy living in our high demand fast paced world.
When do you listen to your instincts and swim upstream and when do you go with the flow and let the momentum carry you? And how do you achieve the balance?
Yes, motherhood is a journey but it’s so much beauty inside this journey🤱 .
New mums you got this 🙌
One day at a time ❤️ The rest of us are still figuring it out as well 😅

Posted @withrepost • @meghanaira Being an archimom is living life in insane mode. Working summers just kick it up a notch with schedule switches. Today was one of those days. I had an all day meeting, and husband had to be present somewhere. Work, life and schools are all within few miles of each other, and we are usually meticulously planned and synchronized between Siri and Alexa, but not today!
Eventually I made an executive decision to take a “22” minute unannounced break around noon to run mom taxi... By the time I returned, few vegetarian options for lunch were gone, and I cleaned up cookies in the meeting room... At 6, I was tired and hungry, ready to call it a day but remembered we had booked Phantom of the Opera tickets. Asked the kid I was picking up to get me a flat white, fueled up with the caffeine so that I didn’t fall asleep, and like a boss, enjoyed every moment of the show... Side effect, it’s been a long day, crazy day, sugar and caffeine day and now the eyes won’t shut.
There are a thousand things on my mind right now. None of them matter. None of them change the world. But they want to voice their opinion about things like Shahrukh Khan was his best in #Swades and it’s his most under appreciated movie. That there were no captions for the English dialogues in the movie completely disregarding #invisibledisabilities such as deafness. That my coffee had too much foam in it. That my doctor wants me to see a neurologist and I don’t really see why I should, so I haven’t made an appointment. That Aziz Ansari has lost his confidence and looks beat in his new show, and it’s problematic that I am not fully convinced his behavior was problematic. This and that, and a thousand things.
I wouldn’t have it any other way. I feed off the insanity. I love everything I do, and I genuinely enjoy the drama of parenting and work, and life. Slow is not my pace, although I highly recommend breaks of self-care without agendas. #spoonie life comes with limitations but when I am on, I am on with all the spoons and forks in the world, and when things go south, all the knives are on my back.
What’s your WTF #parenting moment?
This popped up in my personal memories today from last year. I honestly don’t remember what prompted this but it was likely the therapy I had finally started 25 years later than I should have ( #betterlatethannever ). While it may not seem related to this project I feel pretty strongly that all of us but ESPECIALLY parents need this reminder time and time again. Boundaries are necessary with your kids, co-parents, neighbors, family members and community you are raising humans in.
I believe in you and am here to tell you it is always worth the effort to establish and then enforce boundaries.
Hope your Saturday is kicking ass and not kicking your ass.
DAY 21.... Let's go fly a kite up to the highest height, let's go fly a kite and send it soaring... Reasons why today was super lovely (in no particular order.)
1. Nannie and Grandie bought Sam his own kite and we all had a turn at flying it high up in the sky at the beach today.
2. We were at the beach today.
3. We saw Sam's Nannie and Grandie.
4. We had chips for lunch, on the green, by the sea, out of the paper.
5. We all had ice-creams or lollies - or both in Boo's case... 6. We saw the life boat launch for training.
7. We also saw the air-sea-rescue helicopter out practising.
8. We threw stones into the sea.
9. We collected stones for our stone jar.
10. The sun was shining.

Are you looking for a fun way to teach Latino culture to your kids? I thought my kids how to play dominoes while listening to Latin music and discussing the cultural elements of domino park, social time in front of a bodega, the slamming of dominoes and outbursts of capicúa. The objective of playing dominoes is to empty your hands of all game pieces while simultaneously blocking other players.
Dominoes is played all around the world. Its prevalence, however, lies within Latin American culture, making a family game of dominoes a fun way to observe #hispanichetitagemonth. When immigrants from Latin American countries bring over their traditions from their native countries, they also bring their box of Dominoes and the social culture associated with the game, along with them. In New York City, immigrants from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic as well as Cuba, continue the Domino tradition. In little Havana in Miami, domino park provides a place for culture, food and fun to converge! Many cities in the United States now have parks dedicated to the art of a competitive domino game! #latinoheritagemonth#dominoes#dominos#teachingkids#homeschool
