Happy Wednesday!! 💕 Just received some Great News!! Makes going through **** it all worth it! This has been a crazy year. One I could never have imagined. Prayers, Tears, sleepless nights, but Belief kept me Going. Love my job, so decided to take some of my own advice, Hire a personal trainer, and begin a new adventure planned for next spring. I’m grateful Everyday for my nutrition system that helps reduce stress, gives me incredible energy, and peace of mind that I’m getting all the nutrients my body needs. RDA stands for Recommended Dietary Allowance. It’s there to help you avoid illness. It’s not a measurement of how to be healthy! Just vitamins and minerals aren’t enough to foster great health. You need a variety of nutrients, and there isn’t a RDA for some nutrients since not enough is known about them yet—for example, phytochemicals, polysaccharides, and antioxidants. All these things you definitely want, but you won’t get them if all you care about is numbers on a label!

PALEO: An Example Of What To Eat In A Day

Paleo is pretty simple. EAT CLEAN.

Avoid artificial sweeteners, grains, sugars, legumes, vegetable oils. dairy, and highly processed foods. The goal is to eat like an ancestral hunter-gatherer.

Tip: Read the ingredients labels and know what you're looking for.

Breakfast: Paleo Pancakes: eggs, bananas, almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, himalayan pink salt, grass-fed butter (for serving)

Lunch: Chicken Fajita Cauliflower Rice Bowl: bell peppers, sweet onion, extra virgin olive oil, chili powder, paprika, ground cumin, garlic powder, himalayan pink salt, riced cauliflower, cilantro, lime juice

Dinner: Paleo Meatloaf: extra virgin olive oil, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, himalayan pink salt, black pepper, grass-fed ground beef, almond flour, eggs, coconut aminos, fresh crushed tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, mustard powder, cayenne pepper

Made some homemade chicken noodle soup for post surgery, but honestly just because the stress is getting to me a bit. A comforting simple thing like this can be so important to help get your head back in the game. Waiting on blood work to find out your future is not quite as important for a few short minutes.

It is time consuming but honestly quite simple to make. I use about a 4 pound whole fryer chicken. It will make a big batch good enough for a big family or many single servings and it freezes well. Fill about an 8 to 10 quart kettle with enough water to submerge the chicken. I throw in salt, pepper, a whole medium onion finely chopped, and a little dried minced garlic. Bring the kettle up to a boil, then reduce heat until you have it at a simmer, partially cover and leave simmer for usually a couple of hours, but until the chicken is getting tender. .

At that point you want to add about a pound of course or finely chopped carrots, and slightly less than that of celery. You can add other veggies too if you prefer, just be aware of how long they take to cook. Bring back to simmer for another 30-40 minutes or until the veggies are tender, remove chicken from pot but be sure not to remove too much of the broth. remove all meat, during this time cook your pasta of choice in a separate kettle, I am using organic egg noodles but you can use honestly any fresh, frozen or dried pasta you wish. .

When the chicken is deboned and shredded, and the pasta is done, drain the pasta, then reincorporate the cooked noodles and chicken into the broth. A lot of people get confused with Keto because there are a few different types. A few are Cyclical Keto, Ketotarian, Standard Keto, and Targeted Keto.

Some people also think Keto is very high protein. Keto is traditionally very high FAT.

Breakfast: Keto Breakfast Sandwich: sausage patties, egg, cream cheese, sharp cheddar, avocado, sriracha, himalayan pink salt, black pepper

✨Salmon bowl recipe! ✨⁣ I think my favorite part of this salmon recipe is the marinade I put on the fish

Here’s what I did:⁣
1/2 cup mayonnaise ⁣
1/2 fresh squeezed lemon 🍋 ⁣
2 frozen garlic cubes ⁣
Salt & pepper 🧂 ⁣
Lots of dill weed ☘️⁣
⁣
Mix that together and smear it on the salmon. Cook on 450 degrees for 20 minutes. I paired it with some quinoa and roasted broccoli 🥦 ⁣

.Someone messaged me earlier and said “I bet it’s so good that you can eat what you want again now the comps done and dusted”. WTF!

This is where it amazes me still that people don’t get it! 
Most people eat what they want (by that I’m referring to both what foods but also the amounts) many goto the gym and wonder why they don’t see the results they want.

It’s not rocket science that you need to be in a calorific deficit, however to fast track your goals and optimise your time in the gym, you do need to hit macros that are fine tuned for your body. 
Do you have to eat rice and chicken for breakfast, lunch and dinner - of course you don’t. Apart from the last few weeks leading up to the Olympia I would eat pretty much what I wanted for my evening meal with some exceptions; I had steak, kebabs, occasional nights with alcohol included, cheese, other meats... I keep breakfast, lunch and snacks constant, you get the picture.

The days of full on restriction of certain foods are long gone with many Pro’s and Instagram royalty opting for the If It Fits Your Macros (IIFYM) approach. Back in the “Golden Era” there wasn’t much information freely available on the nutritional values of foods, hence sticking to only known foods was essential.

Don’t get me wrong, if you are competing or on a rapid body decomposition, leading into a competition or a final date in mind, it is far easier for meal prep and less work on a calorie depleted brain to eat foods that don’t cause bloating and other digestive issues and agree with your lifestyle, this is certainly what I recommend and do for the last weeks as it allows for peaking for a photo shoot or stage appearance.

Outside of these last weeks, what is the point in hating the boring foods you eat and having just one “cheat” meal a week (I hate  the word “cheat”) if you have the skills to work out the foods to hit your macros, getting the macros right and monitoring these is where the magic happens, generally not the foods themselves (although should be wholesome foods as close to their natural source as possible, i.e. not too

Now I know for myself meal prep can be time consuming and stressful ESPECIALLY around this time of the year with so much going on 😰😰. The last few weeks I have been making crockpot chicken to prep my lunches for the week and it is a lifesaver! It is so easy, simple, delicious, doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg and healthy!

To make:

Place 10 – 20 raw breasts in the crockpot (depending how big yours is)

Add 4 – 5 cups of water

Add seasoning! (I add old el paso taco or fajita seasoning)

Cook on high for 3 – 4 hours

The chicken is so tender and shreds so easily. Once it’s done I use tongs to shred it. After that it’s super easy to weigh out each meal and add rice and frozen veggies (or whatever you would like). I find using frozen veggies are much cheaper, still nutrient dense and they thaw while they sit in your fridge while waiting for you to eat throughout the week. I have found this to be a huge time and money saver and a great way to cook a lot of chicken at once.

This is a Five Guys triple bacon cheeseburger

It it served with a full fat (which really means full sugar) Dr Pepper and the crispiest French fries from some farm that you've never heard of

Its close to 2000 calories, contains stupid amounts of sugar and sodium (salt). High in saturated fat and carbohydrate and low in protein

It doesn't fit my macros, is offensive to vegans and a destroyer of toilets

It's simply the one meal that I refuse to give up

You would think there's a poignant point to this post telling you that you can still enjoy meals like this if you're trying to lose weight and tone up

I mean, you can and that

But that's not what's happening here

It's genuinely just an excuse to share absolute thing of beauty with you all
