So I debated with myself for a while about whether or not to enter the @sportbikesinc#sbination cover contest & after a little persuasion from friends I decided it couldn't hurt.
Generally I'm not one to talk about myself or try to gain accolades for goals I have accomplished so that makes writing this post that much harder but I do feel advocating for the motorcycle community & for female riders in general is something that I feel very passionately about & often find myself encouraging fellow riders to embrace the bike life for all that it offers.
Back in 2013 I started riding as a means to find cheaper transportation while I was commuting 120+ miles round trip to attend nursing school. At the time I was also married to a US Marine & found out the base offered a free course to active duty & their spouses to obtain their M1 license so without hesitation I bought a bike, took the school, & have been on 2 ever since. Going from just commuting, to trying out track days, to now amateur racing it's wild for me to look back & see how far I have come.
It also amazes me to think that such a split second decision to ride has lead me to where I am now in the moto community. from simply looking to save money, to literally being the hallmark of who I am, what I believe, what I fight for, & what truly fulfills me as a person.
Riding isn't just a hobby, it is undeniably my calling, my life, & my life's passion. I believe my love and energy for riding is what has influenced so many others to either start riding, improve their riding through the coaching and schools I recommend, or fuel a fire to capture bike life & give it real traction in pop culture across the world.
What's next for me is hard to say because I feel the sky's the limit. I have been empowered by so many women riders before me & believe so strongly in doing the same for all the beautiful female riders I cross paths with. I would love to see the small Femmewalla grid at CVMA flourish into a main event during the race season, & continue to grow from there. Then perhaps one day I can look back & say I helped pave the way for other riders to reach their potential also.
Sorry for the novel! Wish me luck! 😁💕
