Just Sunday, I was watching the sunset from the balcony of my son's apartment in Tennessee when I suddenly felt inspired to make this the best, most productive week EVER! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What inspires you?
Being Smart about your health is an on going process! It's not about being there for 21 days only, it's about being tuned into what feels good, what works with your never ending body changes and mind, what gets you moving each day.
So many of us look for quick fixes, quick things to help our mind feel better or just to get into that bikini for the weekend. We need to change that mindset and way of living. I've talked with so many ladies who feel they don't have the time to put in the work to live a healthy lifestyle. They work and think it's easier to run out and run through a fast food joint or better yet they don't have time to eat at all. Then they get home and are too tired but move right to the couch and watch tv all night.....ladies! You can change that. I changed it and so can you. You can eat those foods but in a healthier way that will keep you more energized, you will have the energy to do an active workout, and it WILL become a healthy lifestyle if you can your mindset and do it.
Change is possible, we all know it is but it's scary. It's scary to say yes I am ready, it's scary to realize how hard it can be, it's scary to change your comfort zone. But change is good and keeps you reaching for exciting new things. You can and will do, it's you telling yourself that you can so you will!

You don’t have to give up the foods you love to be healthy! It’s finding how to make the things you love work for you! My kids LOVE jelly, but jelly is loaded with refined sugar and processed junk. I’m not saying I don’t give them jelly of course I do, I’m a busy mom. BUT, when I can improvise and make a healthier version of something I always try that first! So I had berries and honey through them in a pot with some water and chia seeds warm it up just enough to get the berries soft and blend with immersion blender..... spread on some flaxseed toast and voila! A breakfast that the pickiest eater I know enjoys! Oh and that’s my son in the background licking his plate, because we don’t have issues with his eating😆

I have lived my life trying to be perfect but the reality was that I was a mess on the inside. I cared more about what other people thought of me than what I thought of myself. I would even preach that perfection was unattainable and boring. It has taken a lot, I mean A LOT, of self talk and actively changing my inner monologue, but I can say I am a recovering perfectionist. Some days are better than others but PROGRESS over perfection. Repeat it with me… PROGRESS over perfection.

Tuesday tip: sloooow down your stroke rate. One of the hardest things to do is keep a low split at a slow stroke rate.l; it really forces you to focus on form and power from your legs. Try this for a warm up- Row 1 minute at 28 SPM, then drop it down to 20 SPM and try to keep your split within 10 seconds. #tuesdaytips#indoorrowing#tuesdaymotivation
