Self-care is beyond a spa day. It can be as simple as taking a walk or bath or going to a pole dance class to feel your strength. Practice it. You can only fully commit and offer your time to others if you have given yourself what you need. No one can do that for you. Only you can give yourself what you truly want. It could be a 15 min. nap or 10 min. shower with singing at top of your lungs.
I practice yoga everyday. My husband knows that it’s a non-negotiable so his requests for me are always accommodating my yoga practice. I can take any type of day if I have my yoga class.
Know your non-negotiables with your family, employer, friends. That’s self-care!
As you examine your old belief systems and deconstruct the unconscious ways you show up in the world, are you also consciously choosing to create something new?
The work that I do with people is heavy in holistic counseling which is a specific technique used to identify unconscious belief systems at the root of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual suffering. These unconscious belief systems manifest in ways such as physical pain and disease, feeling limited in your potential, difficulty in relationships, feelings of being blocked or stuck, mental illness, money issues, hopelessness, and a myriad of other symptoms that inhibit you from being the creator of your reality, life, relationships, and/or business.
Because you ARE the creator of your life. Life is creation. As you begin to deconstruct the identity you adopted for your self growing up in an environment that needed you to be what it needed from you rather than inviting you to live from the truth of who you actually are, it’s easy to get caught up in a constant plight of identifying these parts of you that no longer fit and dismantling an identity that can longer be upheld. Remaining in that flow state of constantly purging the old you without also doing the work of exploring what it is you want your life to look like, how you want to feel, and who you want to be can actually perpetuate feelings of stuckness and suffering.
In identifying these old belief systems, in inviting in an awareness of them, you gain the power of choice. Choice to create that which you desire. Choice to be whoever you feel like you know your self to truly be. Choice to choose something different. You always have a choice, and you are capable of choosing and allowed to choose something different in no more than a moment’s notice. At all times. No matter what. But you have to consciously choose it. You can’t just expect what you want to find you if you haven’t identified or asked for it.
With awareness comes choice. Become aware of your unconscious ways and choose what you do with your consciousness.
