PANO / STACKED / TRACKED
The Algonquin Reflection - the Milky Way season is back and I can't wait to go and shoot. Here's a photo taken last summer at Algonquin Park, one of the prime locations for night sky photography.

This is my favorite picture. It is the Milky Way Galaxy.
Took me 2.5 hours to take this picture. Yes, I took this picture, off my camera, in the mountains in Bolivia at 1:30am.
S/O to @zee.dh for helping me get this shot and @bal.sidhu@3rins, @aksha.suri and or always telling me to keep clicking
Special shoutout to @khanvictdj for being the day 1 encouragement to pick up a camera and just shoot
Shot with a Sony A7ii with a 24-70mm f4 lens.
A new take on a night sky from last year, this definitely needed some reprocessing. The challenge with procesding Milky Way photos is that we don't have any personal reference. We only see it in b&w and very faint. I could process it that way but since there actually are colors in the night sky and the camera can register them I prefer to keep it colorful. To get a reference I googled some NASA pictures, which helped with the colors, but then again they don't have an atmosphere to contend with. So it usually isn't possible to get it exactly the same. However, one guideline I picked up is that there should not be any pink/purple. Finding a dark location and processing are only the first steps though, making an interesting composition or context that makes sense for a milky way photo is really difficult. Usually it is so dominant in the frame that everything else tends to become secondary subjects and just the Milky Way usually isn't interesting either. Fortunately I have lots of time to think about these things before the conditions are right to photograph it again. 🤔 #landscape_photography#fujixt2#xf23mmf2#panorama#milkyway#milkywayphotography#pargas#pargasparainen#ig_finland
