It's amazing what mother nature will tell you if you're just willing to listen... The whole time out today I was watching the clouds and weather, paying close attention to the shifts and the resulting conditions. When i was coming down from the summit, out of the canyon, I noticed a series of paw prints which I knew were not dogs (based on the shape and lack of any human prints accompanying). Right when i got out of the canyon I saw an adult bobcat, but was too slow and made too much noise fumbling with my camera to catch her... I thought I had missed my chance but as I made my way further down the trail I kept an eye on where the bobcat would have been. I didn't see anything, but could hear a squirrel yelling a warning sign. As i backtracked a bit and found the squirrels tree, sure enough, there were two bobcat cubs hanging out looking for lunch. I know how rare bobcat sightings are, and this is the second time this year I've seen them; this time 3. I've had many run ins with wildlife this year, but it never seems to lose it's ability to make you feel more connected to the experience as a whole. Sometimes it pays to just go slower and appreciate the details. .
It’s always fun to design the landscape on well-conceived contemporary buildings. This finely edited home in Greenville, SC by architect Jennifer Gosnell allowed us to use bold geometric hardscapes softened by hazy grasses and undulating conifers. Installation by @thecollinsgroup_tcg
We made the decision to tackle the track from Esperance through to Israelite bay in Cape Arid National Park then up to the Balladonia road house on the Nullarbor which was quite the adventure! It took just over 8 hours to do under 400ks of rough rocky, corrugated, sandy tracks but was well worth the detour on our way home as we met two wonderful German backpackers who were eager to travel with some companions. The best part about travelling this amazing country is the people that we meet in it!!
And then there is the most dangerous risk of all...the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.

Get out there folks.
It’s worth it.

Travel is one of the greatest privileges! It’s seeing the world through new perspectives. Travel is understanding and celebrating different approaches to life. It’s letting go of your normal routine and being open to new experiences that come when you are free to live, laugh and learn in the moment. #travelislife#colombia#lifeexperience
