Been busy today with trying food around Disney.
First up is the Ohana Breakfast at The Polynesian. It’s a character breakfast with some of my favourite characters - Lilo & Stitch and also a very Hawaiian Mickey Mouse and Pluto. We got pictures with Stitch (who was playfully visiting every table) and Pluto was getting up to mischief in his own photo shoot. Lilo and Mickey were milling around too and provided a nice activity for the kids. Meanwhile the food was standard breakfast fare - a platter of fruit, tropical juice, some sweet bread (not sweetbread that’s something different!) and a platter of breakfast items. These included scrambled egg, gammon and pineapple, Mickey Waffles and sausage. One waffle in particular looked different though - and here’s the pic to prove it. Yes, you get a Stitch waffle too!
After breakfast we headed home to freshen up and then later headed to Epcot Wine and Food Festival to spend some Disney Dining Plan Credits on -
1. Hawaiian Sliders - pork and pineapple with spicy mayo,
2. Beef brisket poutine - fries with cheese and shredded beef in gravy (yes gravy and cheese on chips - big in Canada apparently and I thought it was nice too!)
3. Chocolate cake - at the Ireland stop we got the chocolate cake with Irish whisky cream and it was great!
4. Cheese Bread - Brazil’s cheese bread was an ideal snack - provided you like cheese of course!
For my dinner later even on; we headed to Animal Kingdom to take advantage of Mac n cheese with pulled pork and a spicy bread cake thing.
I’m full now!
Would you try any of these?
Have you been to the Epcot Food Festival?
