Design started when I was in the 6th semester. After years of construction with a very limited budget the church is now completed and opened for weekly worship services.
Remotely located at Samtlang, about 30 mins drive from Aizawl, the project pushed every aspect of design, budget and construction to the limit.
From design discussions and debates on rooftop to sketching on raw timber, every possible method of communication was employed to communicate the design.
Life of an architect.
WORK-LIFE BALANCE ⠀⠀
Good morning architects! (and other creatives💕) ⠀⠀
Hope you had a good rest or at least worked on something really interesting last weekend! ⠀⠀
We all know that nobody picks architecture to become rich but is there a chance to find a balance in our lives? And what is the balance for you? Do you actually unhappy with your lifestyle?
One of the recent studies shows that 37% of architects rank their work-life balance as poor or terrible.
Ok, that's bad but does that mean that 63% could make it?
I don't think that all of them could fit in Denmark😜
Well, actually, some of them think that 'there’s no room for balance if they're going to achieve their dreams'. That’s inspiring, isn't it? ⠀⠀
But I can’t completely agree with that. ⠀⠀
I think each person has a different understanding of what a balanced life is and we change our priorities with time. ⠀⠀
A 23 years old ‘Mary’ has a different style of life and goals than 28 years old, 33 years old and etc. And the biggest reason for our dissatisfaction in life is the wrong understanding of our own goals.
Let’s think about them not just on December 31.
Have a good week!
P.S the video is a bit random but I’m into making them now😍
Timing is everything: Cherry blossom flakes line the quaint promenade of Roosevelt Island just a week after the island was overrun with visitors to a festival celebrating the blooming of the trees as well Japanese culture, prompting the @mtanyc to suspend subway service to the island. #rooseveltisland#cherryblossom#timingiseverything
