No one writes like this anymore. We watch and we know the flow . Intro, Setting , climax , ending . We know the drill and we stand by it.
This one here, changes the scope totally. At one point you’re wondering what’s the storyline here and then you’re waiting for something to turn up but everything seems , unpredictable .
The plot thickens , as they said it out loud but it’s all mellow and entertaining at the same time. A slow burner obviously but the way it’s written and the inclusion of underestimated character development , damn. These are those films that you thought you had a pre-summary written on your mind and then your mind is punched with a subtle substitute and that changes everything.
Brothers being brothers , having their own tantrums. Its common but what you’ll see here are the uncommon , uncanny ones. Little surprises , like pop-candies being thrown at you continuously until you hold on to a basket filled with pop candies flowing all the way.
The writing of this film deserves all the applause ! Kudos to Syam Pushkaran , who brought us the everlasting Mayaanadhi and Rani Padmini. The screenplay reminds you of nothing actually coz it’s all new and fresh. Shane Nigam and Soubin are here to pull your socks off both comically and emotionally. Sushin Shyam’s music is almost magical .
A very intense round of applause to Fahadh Faasil , who shocked me even more than my very own sanity. Like I said , films like this are nearing the extinct phase . Precious things are best kept in a sacred container .
Let us all contain this jewel-wonder and praise it for the craftsmanship and the uniqueness it contains, as it might just nudge the National Award juries next year. 🤭
