Made some DIY Aldi ice cream sandwiches because I’m willing warmer, but not ball blazing hot, weather to us.
I am also done with the rain (as long as the farmers have gotten all the rain they need for the crops). Bring on the sun!
These Aldi sandwiches consist of the knock of Chewy Chocolate Chip cookies (~$1.55) and their cookies and cream ice cream (~$2.55 for 1.5 quarts). I plan on making these a lot this summer to take on picnics as long as I can find an adequate way to keep them cold. My ice packs in a lunch box failed me - let me know if you have any tips!

Brunch is the most important meal of the week. So why not have it multiple times a week?🤷♂️🤷♀️
We love that @thehomesteadercafe serves up brunch Tuesday - Sunday so we never have to wait until the weekend to get a good brunch in!
hooowdy — i think it’s time for another round of introductions. my name is kasim, pronounced like awesome but with a k. i moved to kc when i was 15 from the east coast & threw a flipping fit. fearful of coming to “kansas” (yeah I was one of those that thought kc was only in ks) thinking that it was a rural, uninhabited swath of farmlands with no electricity and wells for retrieving water 😅 a decade’ish later and i couldn’t be more thankful for that move. i’ve always had a love for food but decided to study geographic information systems / environmental science (thanks to leslie knope of @nbcparksandrec). post-grad, i found a cushy job at a local civil engineering firm — after a year and a half, i found myself in a rut, yearning for something that would allow me to be creative and expressive. two years of random low-paying craigslist marketing jobs, countless hours of instagrammin’, 1 bagillion renditions of my website, 3 instagram handles (remember when I was @ajourneyincolour??) and countless calories later, I feel not only proud but very accomplished of where i am today. thanks to all 38,400 of you for following my journey, it only gets better from here! ending on a light note — if you had a super power, what would it be? i think mine would be an indomitable stomach: i literally can eat anything. i wanna hear yours — leave it in a comment below! 👇🏾
this was my last meal in kc for awhile😭 i’m a college student, so i’m going to be in my hometown for the summer. this DELICIOUS meal is from hopcat is westport! this is the madtown grilled cheese, and it is no joke. this thing has dill havarti, smoked gouda & munester, apple slices, honey, and garlic aoili. it was served with fries and roasted red pepper & gouda bisque that tasted amazing by itself or with the grilled cheese. i also got creme brulee cheesecake which was delicious, obviously
