Gus was on “green” at school for 12 (very non-consecutive) days! Even though I think the teacher’s clip chart is stupid, I don’t mind having an excuse to breakfast it up! #pumpkinspicegus#teachermom#iteachtoo

I’m starting the countdown! 1️⃣0️⃣ days until holidays 🎊🎊🎊
2 of #mrshallscholars have already finished a book on week 2 of the school year! 🙌🏽 This scholar is reading @projectlitcomm title, Monster, by Walter Dean Myers. 📚 “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies . . . The man who never reads lives only one.” – George R.R. Martin
Thankful for a district who supports the arts. Our art teacher cohort this year is working on a collaboration and being art teachers as artists. We each made accordion style books and created on the first two blocks however we like. Then, each book gets passed onto the next art teacher to continue and create on the next two blocks. Here is the start to my book... I am excited to see how it looks when it is all done. We were suppose to “start” the next block somehow for the next art teacher. I extended my sky some... because the sky is the limit with this!
Hidden Treasure Bean Bin // Anderson is still ALL over the bean bin. To the point that he thinks the cups of coffee beans at the check out at @discoverycoffee are his to play with and he’s added quite a few coffee beans to this bin as well🤣 we keep changing up the activity and adding new elements. I buried some of his @melissaanddougtoys magnet letters under the beans and had him dig and scoop to retrieve them. He then took tongs and started pinching the different letters out all on his own :) For older kids you could get them to try and spell words with the letters the retrieve, or try to put them in alphabetical order.
Rest day = reading day, and I absolutely loved this book from @tayorockson. Use Your Difference to Make a Difference is all about the power of connection and using that connection to educate and reflect on our biases/perceptions to, well, make a difference. Tayo has a phenomenal way with words (his poems are sprinkled throughout the book), and I found myself nodding when I got to a powerful quote or story (which was often). I also really loved the interactive elements where you could apply what you just read right in the middle of the page. The superhero references and analogies were pretty epic too 😁🤩. .
Everyone should read this book. I learned so much from it, and I can’t wait to share it with my team at school! Thanks, Tayo! ❤️❤️
We are launching our Apple Theme tomorrow with this simple apple observation! 🍎 I can’t wait to dive into some fun activities for the next couple of weeks all about 🍏! Do you learn about apples in the fall? What are some of your favorites?
My life was DRASTICALLY changed by one single decision that I made 4 years ago. I decided to stop yo-yo dieting and start learning how to lose weight in a healthy way.
I had ZERO idea how to do this, but I didn’t need to. In 2015 I jumped on board with a 3-week fitness + nutrition program and had a coach who helped and supported me through the whole thing! Because of that program AND the support of my coach, I lost 10 lbs and over 10 inches in those 21 days WITHOUT depriving myself or spending hours working out.
30 minutes of exercise in my living room and simple meals was all it took for me to start seeing results and making this new change for good. I’ve never looked back since, even through my pregnancy!!
I decided to make fitness my job and help other women see results like I did. I created Grace Camp Prep School to help my clients get started right, an app to track workouts, meals, and an entire community of women who are there to support and cheer each other on! Yeahhh... it’s a beautiful thing❤️
If you want to hang out with the best ladies on the planet and make amazing progress in your fitness journey, you’ve gotta chat with me! Get your spot in our Grace Camp this month!! DM me or comment below if you’re interested in more details :)

Do you use point sheets for your kiddos who are struggling with behaviors? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⬆️If not, this point sheet is available FOR FREE in my free resources google drive folder (link in my bio.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⬇️Keep reading to see how I use this with my kiddos. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Students on point sheets have the opportunity to earn prizes for “awesome” days. An awesome day is when a student earns 80% of their points. I let my k-2 kiddos earn prizes daily and my 3-5 kiddos earn tangible prizes every three “awesome days” or reward time (drawing, going on a walk, etc) daily. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. On the top of this point sheet is the student’s goal, this one states “I stayed in control of my voice, body & words/initiated a task and kept working on the task with 2 or less prompts.” This can be changed if needed. This is how we decided how many points are earned.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Point sheets are a great way to document behaviors by using the comment section. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. For many students, I use this as a form of communication with parents. I either send a picture of the point sheet home or a make a copy and send it home in the back pack. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tip: you could also add daily schedules into the time blocks (ex. Math, reading, specials, lunch, etc.) I wanted to keep this template simple so I did 30 minute time blocks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
BTW, This is a very simple template... I’m sure you can find WAY better ones on TPT! I’d love to hear where you find some awesome templates!!👏🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When people ask me how my school year is going I don't really know how to answer 🤷♀️
My team is amazing ☑️
My students are awesome ☑️
I work at the best school ☑️
so in that aspect it is wonderful!!
But, it has been a rough transition for this strong-willed little 3 year-old! Transitioning back to daycare, and starting preschool has been harder than we had anticipated! 🙄
We are making progress, but it is challenging and exhausting dealing with all of the beahviors and emotions of dealing with change, and independence, and starting new things...and did I mention she is extremely strong-willed?!?! 😳
I am soaking up all the snuggles I can get this weekend! 😍
Anyone else dealing with strong-willed 3-year-olds??
