“Remember the little successes too.” This has been a phrase I’ve been telling myself since I started my new full time job two weeks ago! Since finding ways to cope and better my mental health, I’ve been able to wrap my head around the idea around taking on more responsibilities without being overwhelmed. With my perfectionist mind, I would always think that anything I did, big or small, wasn’t good enough, and so I would give up on myself. It was tiring, upsetting, stressful, and felt like I was taking a beating all the time. But that’s because I was...from myself!
Telling myself this phrase now really puts into perspective for me that everyday we have successes. Everyday we get through something better than we did before. And everyday we can better our mindset by staying present with what we have accomplished in this moment, whether big or small.
