The Phases of Degeneration have been highlighted in chiropractic clinical care for nearly 100 years. Most conventional PTs/Orthos/Neuros write it off as something EVERYONE will acquire some day.⠀
That it’s simply a manifestation of aging. Here is the problem... even in some of the oldest patients we have films for, SOME vertebrae show little signs of degenerative changes.⠀
If it is aging, wouldn’t we see a uniform level of breakdown? ⠀
The biggest issue is this... we are seeing this in kids.⠀
Phase 1 Degeneration in 5 year olds. ⠀
Phase 2 Degeneration in pre-teens.⠀
Yes, I care about adults, parents and grandparents. BUT if we can change this trend in kids, we will change the trajectory of their health and vibrancy throughout life!

Let go of the reigns a bit. Tap into your innate natural intelligence in order to flow with ease. This is essential for your physical, mental & emotional well-being.
This notion of push, work harder, achieve more is not health. Health is not rigid, demanding or grueling. Health is a sweet spot...not too much & not too little. We want to be able to bend with the wind not break. Be able to Turn on a dime & rebound when we falter. .
Changing the dialogue we have around health, fitness & nutrition is important to me. To free yourself from society’s belief that more is better. Often more is just more.
Take a rope for example, pull it taut to straight, now make it more straight...you see once you hit straight you can’t get straighter than straight. After straight you actually get less straight. Your health is the exactly the same. .
Health is innate, intuitive & integrated. It is not moving in cut & dry ways, it’s not being overly strict with your diet, and it’s definitely not beating yourself up or demanding more. These tactics create tightness & rigidity which ultimately disrupts & impedes flow. And HEALTH is FLOW. Think of the circulatory or nervous system...no body says they want rigid, tight, restrictive blood flow 🤪 but a lot of times that’s what we are creating & training into our bodies.
Just a little food for thought ☮️💜💫
Chiropractors humbly acknowledge that the only thing that can heal the body is the power that created it.
The wisdom of the body is responsible for getting you better, and for your body’s self-regulating and adapting abilities. Trust in it.

A relatively common concern people have when going to a #chiropractor is that if they go once, they will need to keep going.
This is how I look at it...
If you want to get in amazing physical shape, you don’t do just 1 full body workout, followed by just 1 hour of cardio, followed by just 1 full day of eating well and expect to look like a svelte, athletic, fitness model. You eat well, exercise well, sleep well, and do whatever else you need to do well for months, years, or even decades.
The same goes for concert pianists, or Grammy award winning vocalists, or powerlifters, or authors, or lead guitarists, or doctors. Everything worth having or being good at in life takes dedication and consistency.
The health of your spine is no different. If you’ve you had misalignments causing imbalance to your spine (and overall posture!) for years, #chiropractic is not a one and done sort of thing.
It takes time for the spine to adapt to the new, correct positioning of the vertebrae following an adjustment. Ligaments and tendons and muscles will regain their proper tension and positioning much faster than they found their improper positioning and tension.
And as chiropractic principle No. 6 states, there is no process that does not require time. @drbrandonharshe@harshechiropractic
EVERY CHILD DESERVES CHIROPRACTIC CARE! Earlier today this little boy fell and hit his forehead on a book shelf. He came in the office and he new he needed an adjustment - he laid himself right down on my lap as I sat to get down to his level to check him. This one adjustment prevented a life time of altered neurological function that the cause may not have been detected - The earlier abnormal spinal function is recognized the greater the opportunity that child will have for neurological development! #icpa4kids#get adjusted #chiropracticpediatrics#therechargingstationct#innateintelligence
☘️Portals of Wellness☘️
I propose five areas of the mindbody space that manifest our most essential biosymbols. These are interpretations of our world expressed in our biology. They range from our need for safety to our quest for spirituality.
Icall these areas portals because they are gates of expression of the total being: causes that cannot be attributed to specific physical locations. .
The portals are expressions of disharmony in the total bioinfomational field manifesting in five areas of the body:
1. safety - from the stomach to the legs and feet; 😌
2. love - from the heart to base of the neck; ❤️
3. expression - from the base of the neck the to arms, hands, and face up to the eyebrows; 😏
4. peace - from eyebrows to the crown of the head; 💫
5. spiritual/transcendental - everywhere and nowhere (non-local). ♾

ON OUR INBUILT GRATITUDE
Today I read a self-help book that had 16 pages all about how to be grateful. 16 whole pages, with exercises built in right the way through. Now don't get me wrong, I'd have loved this at one point in my life when I felt I needed something to make myself feel better. But these days stuff like this has little appeal.
Now before you strike me off, that doesn't mean I'm not grateful! Far from it; it is just that I know I don't need a book - or an exercise or 5 - to find my gratitude. Why? Well, because the idea of searching outside of myself to muster up a forced feeling just makes no sense.
It makes absolutely no difference to me whether I'm feeling gratitude or not, because I know it is there somewhere underneath and its absence is simply indicative of my state of mind, which is perfect as it is, in each moment. How I am in this present time can change any second, and it's not because I'm forcing it to. I'm just OK with not feeling gratitude all of the time.
The second I try and force it, is the second I lose my authenticity and who I am right now. But more than that, it is me simply trying to force myself to believe I'm something I already am. And you can never be anymore of who you already are.
Gratitude is inbuilt. And in those moment of clarity, between the thoughts, in those moments where everything seems so crystal clear as a wave of love ripples through you, you remember that this is who you are. We are that very beautiful essence of love that bubbles up in our moments of gratitude. As we see that sunshine glistening through the branches of the trees, and we feel the beauty of it, we haven't forced gratitude.
And whether you try and force it or not, gratitude will always be there when we are free of thinking. The challenge is, if you're thinking how to be grateful, the less you'll be able to rest in connect with our true gratitude.
When you look at it like that, doesn't it seem daft to strive for something that's already within?
There's nothing to do, but stop and notice that everything we seek is already coming from us. 💜

Emotions are probably one of the most misunderstood tools we have and @mindbody_consulting we absolutely love bringing new perspectives to old misunderstandings.
When you really care about something you focus a lot of energy towards it. Whether it's a problem you need to solve or a new desire you want to acheive, you think about it...a lot.
When that much power and creative energy is flowing through you it's important to know what direction it's flowing AND that you can redirect the flow!
My mom always used to say something like, "If you water the weeds they'll grow and if you water the flowers, they'll grow. It's wise to pay attention to what you feed." Fear is a really awesome and very helpful indicator that right now we're watering the weeds.
It means that right now you are taking this flow of energy and focusing in the direction of what you DON'T want to happen instead of what you DO want to happen.
It's totally fine, and nothing is terribly wrong it's a simple shift in focus.
If you're moving in a dangerous direction, even if it's just in your thoughts your body will let you know that it's time to change direction!
Shift your focus, shift momentum and find a new direction.
Your Inner Genius knows exactly what direction serves you best, and it does everything it can to keep you on track.
Fear doesn't mean terrible things are coming, it just means your focus could use a new direction if you want to get where you really want to go.
This Inner Genius is the most trustworthy source of expert advice on how your body and life works best. It's an advisor we forgot how to listen to, and it's ready to support you whenever you're ready to tap back in!
If you're interested in sorting through the noise and tapping into the resources you were born with I'd absolutely love to talk to you!

I want to share with you one of my most Profound moments
The power of innate intelligence
The power of pure intent
I walked into my Vitalistic chiropractors office feeling very emotional, not only was I greeted with my usual friendly smiling faces, hugs and high fives.
Before I knew it I have these lovely souls surrounding me with a warm embrace.
No wonder why I call this place “my happy place”
I then as usual lay down for my adjustment, but this time something very different, something very special happened too me.
On this day in that place of healing I experienced the true power of intent and care.
The connection between two connected people... we both felt the amazing innate power of the body work. As I lay there with my head in my healers hands,,, I myself adjusted. I felt the power of my own body from the bottom of my neck move up ... click click click, three powerful beautiful times. Truly amazing stuff!!! There was no need for further adjusting or assistance, as my body was ready, my body knew what it needed, Love, trust and the Power of intent. For both of us to feel it happen was pretty cool 🙌
You hear of these magical moments in power houses of mass healing with large groups of healers and patients. The energy there is strong, buzzing, electric.
To experience this between me, my innate intelligence and the love and trust of the healer I choose to care for me, was truly a phenomenal moment for me.
The bond and history we share as me being a forever grateful client I am so blessed to have felt this power.
Thankyoy Dr Sam and Thankyou to my own special clever body. #innateintelligence#pureintent#powerofintent#powerwithin#chiropracticcare#loveyourbody
Six months earthbound 🌎 👼🏼❤️🤱🏻
As my beloved turns half a year old, I’m reflecting on what shaped me to be who I am in this new identity of mother.
Did I know all the practices I’d devoted my life to before becoming a mama would serve me as a parent? On some level yes, but I had no idea how directly and profoundly they would. Everything before now prepped me for this! While this is always true, I feel this statement amplified in this new stage of life.
What have I discovered about myself inside of becoming a mother? That many of my practices before having a baby have been paramount in enjoying this mamahood journey as fully as I am.
These include my regular meditation practice. This allows me to rest into presence and be with the arising. To not attach story or meaning to what is emerging. To know myself as vast emptiness, and spacious ground of being, as well as simultaneously being the ever arising moment.
The work I’ve done with clients supporting them to present their internal parts and meet them with their true Self, the one that is compassionate unconditional loving presence, allows me to have love for all that is arising, not trying to push anything away or deny its need for presence.
My own deep practice of loving and being with all parts of me, my little one, my vulnerable one, the exiled ones, the protectors and managers, etc. allows me to practice maintaining steadfast presence and multi level focus with myself as I’m with my baby.
Knowing how to Re-Source myself when I feel distracted or depleted is also paramount in staying present, loving, and attuned with my baby.
My years of training and teaching subtle energy awareness allows me to easily attune to my daughter, connecting with her in non-verbal communication and interactions. I can meet her needs by listening and attuning fairly effortlessly.
Living my life more from intuition than logic and analysis also provides me with a capacity to hear and follow inner guidance of what’s needed.
My capacity to not worry but rather to be with whatever is arising, and let myself be taught and shown by the greater intelligence that we are. My cultivated and inherent trust and knowing of

::Practitioner Trauma Pt 4:: Blueprint of Health
At the last training I was at, I was a demo for attuning to right distance, right time. My teacher Brigit and I were sitting in chairs side by side with a pillow over our laps. I put my right arm on the pillow and she put her left arm on the pillow. .
“How is the distance between us?” She asked. “It feels ok.” After some time of sitting and settling, she asked, “What are you noticing with your arm?” “When I look at it, it looks like it’s rubber, like it’s not even real. And it feels numb”
She shared some nervous system science behind this with the group and I noticed that I was starting to heat up in my chest and arms. I shared this and that it was feeling like a lot of pressure and attention on my arm, so we all looked away. Everyone held their own space and attuned to their health and blueprint and I looked out the window at the ancient trees that surrounded the building while keeping the smallest part of my attention on my arm (just enough to let it know I was still present with it, but not too much so as to feel invasive). We sat there for a good 10 minutes, and while Brigit spoke more wisdom into our collective experience, waves and waves of heat rose from my diaphragm to my face and down my right arm. Eventually I started to feel some tingling in my fingers and twitching down my arm, and in time I could feel parts of my arm again, warm and alive and real. .
All it took was right distance and right time. Attuned attention. Anchoring into health. Co-regulation. A deep trust and knowing of the body’s inherent treatment plan. .
No fixing, no doing. .
Sitting in the possibility of the body’s divine blueprint of health and following the wisdom that emerges. .
Imagine what could be possible if we approached health and healing in this way?
This is especially important for womxn who have experienced narcissistic abuse. Their internal guidance system has been overridden, invalidated, gaslit, and manipulated again and again, which gets internalized.

:: Practitioner Trauma Part 3 ::
A New Possibility
In a 1 on 1 session with a woman I am working with, I shared a recent experience I had of being triggered and how I navigated through it. I had also let her know that she didn’t have to trust me. “Don’t put all of your trust in me. I will do my very best to show up and be the most trustworthy and integral I can be. I have a whole tool box of skills and practices and a highly attuned sense of myself and intuition and you, but I am human and will make mistakes.” One of my teachers said this to me when we first started working together and nothing settled my system more.
She looked at me dumbfounded. Multiple times she paused to express how new this experience was and how blown away she was that this experience was happening. Any other forms of therapy she had experience had a power-over dynamic. There was the therapist with the answers and the pills and there was her with the brokenness. “It’s all in your head. Take responsibility, move on. Take these pills and you will be fixed.”
But she was done with being numb. She was ready (and terrified) to feel and live again.
“I can’t stop smiling,” she said, “I have this big goofy smile on my face and I don’t know why.”
I smiled a big goofy smile too, “I bet that’s the part of you that has known all along that you aren’t broken, that it’s not all in your head, that the abuse has not been your fault. I imagine it would feel SO good to that part of you to finally be validated. I remember the first time I experienced that.” I teared up. “I’m sorry that you have been consistently told otherwise. That’s totally fucked up.”
We sat on the ground across from one another, face to face, soul to soul. “This feels really good to just sit here human to human,” she shared, “I never get to do this.” I nodded in full-body agreement.

Each moment is pregnant with possibilities. Which means that your today is the result of your yesterdays’ thoughts, beliefs, emotions, actions and perceptions. That’s an immensely liberating truth. It means that each single moment, like - NOW - you can choose differently. It means that each single moment, like - NOW - you can create yourself and your tomorrows to be different.
It simple but not easy.
The only thing is that there is no point in fighting the ‘what is’ - whether you accept it or not, it’s already here, manifested (to paraphrase Byron Katie). You don’t have to agree with it, yet it’s no point in fighting it. Start from accepting and choosing differently.
Start from or come back to curious self observation, compassionate self reflection; make a habit to tuning into sensations within your body, re-connect with your heart and your pelvic area. Be your own student.
You heard that million (if not more) times - all and everything is within. It truly is.
I’m taking my own advice today. Today feels tender and vulnerable. I don’t even need to know ‘why’ but what I do need - is to allow myself to feel it all through and to be ok with ‘what is’ my inner state of being in this exact NOW moment.
I grew up a very sick kid. Chronic bronchitis, asthma, and horrid allergies to name a few. My mom constantly fed me this asthma medication, and that allergy shot and flu shot, and this steroid, and that inhaler or breathing treatment, and this Robitussin MD and Dimetapp, and the list literally goes on and on and on...
It wasn’t until I told my mom at age 15 that I was formally and officially refusing and rejecting all forms of medicine that I finally stopped being a sick kid. I even miraculously outgrew my “asthma” in a matter of months.
Being a #chiropractor and raising a #chiropractic minded family with @januaryharshe, it probably comes as no surprise that we have raised our kids to be much healthier than I was, or even January was for that matter.
As a result, none of our 6 kids have needed a single round of antibiotics in 16 years.
With that comes explanations to the kids about the body, chiropractic, food, the mind, and everything else related to good health and vitality whether they like it or not. 👊🏻😂 @harshechiropractic.
