Gupta Padmasana (Hidden Lotus)🌸 is a meditation posture, used for relaxation, peace, stability and emotional balance.
💫Beside it's opening effect on the hip and calming effect on the mind it digs deep in the body areas where we hold lots of suppressed emotions.
🗨️The nature of the pose is grounding, it connects you in a bind to earth (no quick run away). It represents to me complete surrender to nature, the source with all my vulnerability.
It benefits all the doshas: .
👉Vata dominants 🌬️(with imbalance) stay as long as you like, as still as possible. On cold days cover yourself before long holds as it has a cooling effect on the body. Use Udjjay breath while holding to maintain body heat.
👉Pitta dominants🔥 (with imbalance) hold the pose and let go. Let it teach you surrender. This is one of those poses which are truly for you. Relax.
👉Kapha dominants 🌊(with imbalance) include the pose into a flow sequence towards the end to calm down. Do not use it when you feel low (energetically or mentally). Use Udjjay breath while holding.
Attempt the full pose only if you have a strong and stable Lotus. Seek for the advice of a competent teacher for modifications.
