Happy Father’s Day to this man right here! My dad has always set a great example for me to follow, and is always there for me & my Ohana. He’s legit the real MVP, those of you who know him personally will know what I mean. 💯✊🏼 Thanks for raising me the way that you did, and showing me what it is to truly have a fathers love. #BLESSED

He HATES when I do these types of posts. Good job Daryl on this year’s Kamehameha Day celebration 🎉 . It’s a LOT of work putting on these community events. Trust and believe. If you would like to kokua we could use some help. Please send me DM if can. Mahalo! Imua babes 😂.
Black sand beaches are rather novelty, and while still beautiful in its own sense, I prefer white sand beaches.
Also the surf on south side of the island is almost always beating hard, so this particular black sand beach is not really swimmable. Green sea turtles and other sea creatures love this environment, but I’m off to a soft white sand to bury my feet in again...
A visit to the Fern Grotto, a fern covered and lava rock grotto located along Kauai’s Wailua River (known as “the only navigable river in Hawaii”).
Swipe ◀️ for videos of the Wailua River ride to and from the grotto.
The Fern Grotto is a beautiful geological wonder of Kauai. Ferns grow upside down from the roof of the grotto, which was formed millions of years ago. Native Hawaiian plants and colorful exotic tropical plants provide a rainforest atmosphere.
Several boat companies operate river tours to the grotto (I used Smith’s Kauai). The grotto is known primarily as the most romantic spot on the island of Kauai popular for weddings ceremonies and photo shoots.
The Wailua River’s fresh water pours down from Mount Wai‘ale‘ale, one of the wettest spots on the planet. Lands along the river were the sacred capital of ancient Kauai and the birthplace of the island’s ali‘i (royalty).
There is a short walk to the grotto from the boat landing. For safety visitors are no longer allowed into the grotto which is seen from a viewing platform. Admission. Tour is about 90 minutes.
