This is actually a happy anniversary... one year ago, I got rid of a lot of things that were bringing me down, so to speak. November was a nightmare month. Broken glass, blood on the walls; hospital visits and talking to officers. I leaned *really* hard on a few people who really rose to the occasion. A lot of video chats in an empty apartment while a dog whines for its owner...
Then in a few weeks, the hard core traveling started. The meeting therapeutic distractions started. Surprise trips that let me go home twice in a month. And then January kicked off the most incredible year I’ve lived.
I would never, ever want to repeat the past thanksgiving. But if it was necessary to get where I am? What can you do.
