I absolutely LOVED seeing my 'Run the Streets' kids today! It's been hard not running with them this season due to my knee injury but they're doing so well.😭 I can hardly wait for a full recovery and the ability to join them on the streets again! Hopefully they can still keep up with me then. 🤪🙌 ⠀
Run the Streets is a a 12 week half marathon training running mentorship program for at-risk teens.

Celebrating the birthday of the @dojobali temple with a cleansing and blessing ceremony. Of course the Westerners couldn’t pass up the photo opp (I mean...there were costumes involved, duh). If it’s not Instagrammable did it even happen? 😛✨🙏🏼🥳

What can we say !!! Coby has made one amazing achievement in 12 months
The 1st picture is Coby with his Wingless sprint & 12 months later the 2nd pic is him with his awesome looking Sprintcar 🏁
Coby’s goal was to one day ether get a drive in a Sprintcar or own his own and guess what this young 18 year old has managed to own his own car
What an amazing achievement in 12 months
We would like to thank the people that have trusted coby along the 12 months journey of getting things organise and ready in that 12 months period to help get him where he is now ☺️
Let’s keep young Coby’s dream alive and get behind him as he pilots his 410 Sprintcar and cheer him on
Well done Coby awesome achievement and we are sure as a small family team there is going to be many more achievements along your Sprintcar Racing journey

I love being a librarian and finding little gems. I've always known that the Babysitters Club had a character who was diabetic (Stacy) so I enjoyed seeing this book come in and finding that the cover matched my tattoo. I didn't love the content and how they portray type 1 diabetes in the book, but I also have to remember this book was written in 1986.
When I was diagnosed in 1997 there were parents who didnt want their kids around me. Whenever I went to birthday parties starting off I wasnt allowed cake. My parents were lovely and would buy my candy from me when I went trick or treating. People were terrified of putting candy or sweets in front of me.
This makes me laugh now as an adult because I feel pretty comfortable eating what I'd like pretty much whenever. Do I double check my blood sugars before eating? Absolutely. Do I take insulin to eat sweets? Sure do. But I do it in a way that I AM comfortable with. Not anyone else. You are the only one who gets to choose what you do with your body-including what you eat! (Listen to your doctor of course and make a plan that you are comfortable with.) In conclusion, eat the damn cupcake and if someone asks "omg why are you eating that cupcake?" Tell them "because I WANT TO". (Both of these books have T1 characters in them, haven't finished Sweetblood yet. Any other books with diabetic charcters??) #insulin4all#thediabeticlife#type1diabetes#dexcomg6#columbus#followyourdreams#baking#cupcakes#brokenpancreas#curet1d#saturdayvibes#booknerd#librariansofinstagram#bookstagram
