Once upon a time....there was a period that I felt encaged...like a bird captured...in what I initially thought was a “nesting” place...and safe haven....my final place of landing. Yet, that space became a dark place. My wings were clipped and that safe haven... became one of confusion, disappointment, misery, loneliness, and despair. I had lost me. Only my internal drive, coupled with my faith in God upheld my hope of one day being free....Free to be truly loved, to be treated as the Queen I am, free to experience true joy (not happiness...that’s different), free to live in abundance and free to walk in my own calling. So....this organically snapped pic (taken in a moment of laughter amongst friends)...expresses where I AM and who I AM today. Here comes year 34. THANK YOU GOD...I’M STILL FLYING! “They that wait on the Lord, shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”—Isaiah 40:31” #ButGod#FreedomFriday#Free#DoYou#FearfullyWonderfullyMade#AlexisFly#flyhigh

SHELLY LYNN BASH
BORN: November 5 1996
DIED: March 31 2005
Shelly died due to Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). She had been in and out of foster care all her life as her biological parents could not deal with her condition. In her life, she had over six surgeries to help her heart however none of them seemed to work and she gradually became worse. She passed away in her foster mother's arms.
Shelly loved going to church, horseback riding, jumping on her trampoline, swinging on her swing in the back yard while singing songs. Wintertime she enjoyed snow sledding, gymnastics visiting the animals at the Animal Control and going to piano lessons. Shelly loved dolls and had a big collection of them.
