Oriental ink, acrylic on Hanji

Like the wind blowing and the snowstorm raging, the time of trial is coming. Like the trees that withstand the hard time by taking firm root in the ground, each being was enduring with all their might. Looking back, we seem to be living such a desperate and intense day. As I focused on the inspirations and emotions that I got from everyday life, I came to depict abstraction of fragmentary impressions of life rather than representation of landscape. With dark Oriental ink, this work contains the weight of life, and creates a dynamic movement with rough brushstrokes. The distinctive wood patterns symbolize the crowd, and they are making small echoes in their respective voices. Each of these small but vibrant resonances gathers together to form a harmony like singing in chorus. We have to endure alone, but we cannot live alone. So why don’t we give ear to our small but intense ‘Song of Life’?
