Not beating around the bush, my most favorite item among all that I tried would be their Mutton Chukka (₹130). The recipe/spices used is a secret, the owner said. But, he revealed that they use a specific cut of meat because of which they are able to give consistency. This, just this dish by itself made my stop at Theni, worthwhile, I would say.
The Oil Chicken (₹130) was unique and carried nice flavors. The use of Cold Pressed Oil (Mara Chekku Ennai) lifts those flavors, many fold. Their Parottas are also prepared with Cold Pressed Oil giving it that lingering taste. I preferred their Panju Parotta (₹25) to their normal Parotta (₹20) only because of the Panju Ponra (Cotton like) texture. The accompanying Salna/Sherva was good.
Their Short-Grained Rice Mutton Biryani (₹170) carried the mildest of flavors. Not an irritant free Biryani but the taste will leave you wanting more. And, the Salna which comes with it was a perfect combination.
Totally paid ₹842 including takeaway of few items, Mineral Water Bottle, AC charges and Packing Charges for parcel. On the day I went, cards were not accepted. Since it was recently launched they said they'll be adding card transactions, soon.

Where is the best nasi Kandar in Penang? The locals pointed me to this. Started at 2pm, there is already a queue. The line clear Kandar beside it looked pretty empty. What I love is the happy spirited atmosphere of the staff. Efficient and friendly. Though I was queuing in the hot sun, the queues shortens up pretty quick and soon its my turn. A simple meal like mine fried chicken (came hot and pipping in batches of trays), squid eggs (I don't know they are super soft and juicy), salted duck egg (is a must!) and ladies fingers cost about $13 ringgit Malaysia ($4+ sgd). I think that pretty affordable as compared to other Kandar brands.

South Indian Breakfast Today❤️ Fluffy Cotton Idly 😍
Coconut Chutney 😍
This is the best way to enjoy your breakfast or lunch or snacks without guilt, low calorie food and is beneficial for gym freaks.. Idly is a very staple food in south and is generally loved by everyone no fuss easy to make and taste so good . Leftover idly is used in following ways like idly dhokla ,upma , idly raita , idly Manchurian etc will post recipe fr that if anyone wants!
3 katori idly rava or regular rice
1 katori urad daal
Salt to taste
Oil for greasing
Method soak the idly rava or rice and urad daal in water for 6 hours. After that wash them well and grind urad daal to paste then mix this urad daal paste with the soaked rava ( discard all the water from rava) and let it ferment fr 8 hours. If u are using regular rice then u grind the rice and mix with urad daal.. Next when ur batter gets fermented well add salt to taste and mix it lightly Grase ur idly plates pour one spoon batter and steam it in high flame for 10 minutes let it cool a bit then demould them.
1 cup arhar daal
1 onion chopped
1 tomato chopped
2 green chillies chopped
1 carrot chopped
1/3 cup chopped Bottlegourd / lauki
2 tbsp oil
1 spring curry leaves
1 tsp rai
1/2 tsp hing
2 tbsp sambhar masala
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp soaked imli pulp
2 dry red chilli
Black salt to taste
1 tsp haldi
1 tsp grated ginger
Soak the arhar daal for 1 hour
In a cooker add carrot lauki washed daal 3 cup water salt and haldi give 5 whistle
Next in a kadhai add oil rai curry leaves hing dry red chilli grated ginger now add onions saute them now ad tomatoes cook them till mushy add all the masalas imli pulp mix whisk the daal well and add . Mix all add water if required add black salt little for flavour cook on low fr 10 min ready.
1 cup chopped coconut
3 tbsp futana
2 green chillies
1 tsp ginger
2 curry leaves
1/2 cup water
Grind all together coarsely
1 tsp oil
1 tsp rai
1 spring curry leaves
1/4 tsp urad daal
2 dry red chilly
Heat a tadka pan add oil rai curry leaves urad daal dry red chilly and pour over chutney.

Yoghurt rice...most friendly and comfort food.
I’m fond of it 😍😍😍
Rice mashed with fork, creamy yoghurt mixed well adding right amount of salt and cold milk poured over it and mixed well again. Tempered with ghee, red chillies, cumin, green chillies, mustard seeds, crushed garlic, curry leaves and hing. Finally topped with fresh coriander and pomegranate seeds😍😍😍😍
Yesterday we gang of girls went out for lunch and had an exciting time. The gossips, jokes on husbands😝😝😝, sharing joyous moments and sorrows too.
The drinks 🍸 were so refreshing that, we ordered for 2 more each. Fish 🐠 and chips did their job well. while my buddies enjoyed chicken 🍗 tikka, I had french fries 🍟 with amazing mayonnaise dip. For Main course, we ordered mutton biryani 🍛 which was not at all up to the mark and I had just two morsels of it and pushed it aside. .
My friends teased me saying ab style math maar aur khaale, tu accha cook👩🍳 karti hai hame pata hai😬😬😬
But I couldn’t. It was over loaded with masalas and was spicy 🥵.

Eneko coming in strong with their that basque style scrambled eggs, aka with ibérico ham, potatoes and eggs. Comfort food done right 💯
And that egg yolk tempura.. not clue how they managed that but insanely indulgent and worth every penny (and calorie 🙈). And don’t get me started on the crystal bread and iberico ham.. yeah I devoured that in a continuous few bites cos I couldn’t stop.
