Pebbles, solid wood handles and knobs. Bartoli Design for Vonsild.
Their shape is soft and rounded like “wooden pebbles”, as being smoothed by the action of water and time, produced in three casual shapes.
Pebbles can be used as knobs, handles or simply as sculptures to be hung on the wall.
Their natural color palette, as faded by the action of natural agents, refers to the stones that you might find in the bed of a river or by the sea.
Bartoli Design knows how to design handles and, at the same time, knows the secrets behind woodworking, the leading material for many products they’ve designed.
The collaboration with Danish company Vonsild, that specializes in small wooden handles and knobs for cabinets, drawers and closets - exclusively manufactured in solid wood - is born from mutual experiences and know-how to give life to unique products, in a combination of design, craftsmanship and research.
The first outcome of this interesting collaboration are the four families of knobs and handles Trumpet, Pebbles, Nao and Gem, manufactured, as all company’s products, in solid wood with CNC machining or wood turning.
«From our point of view» explain Anna and Paolo Bartoli «it is interesting to address a theme so specific in a niche market. Wood is a very intriguing material to us and it has been stimulating to think of new shapes and new ways to use these objects».
Today is such an exciting day! I’m flying to Mumbai, India to speak @aptechprint! I’ll be talking about how to better communicate with designers by understanding their process in order to create printed pieces no one wants to throw away. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m honored to be the first female keynote presenter at this event. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Shout out to @grilledbran for recommending me for this amazing opportunity!
