Fresh baked egg custard and summer berries are a treat. Baked custard is so easy and a comfort food for me no matter what time of year.
I definitely recommend you try it.
-3 eggs - 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 cups milk, heated
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
- pinch of nutmeg
In a saucepan, whisk eggs, sugar, heated milk and vanilla together. Pour custard into a 20 cm pie plate. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Set pie plate in a shallow pan of water. Bake at 150° C for 1 hour or until set. Serve hot or cold. (Serves 4) 😉
