September 17th, 2019. Mid-morning to afternoon.
After spending the night in the car, parked along one of Centralia’s deserted roadways (and hoping no sinkholes would suddenly open beneath us), we walked around the town to get a better view in the daylight. Vegetation grows over the edges of the roads, old fire hydrants stand dry amongst the greenery, cemeteries commemorate those who called this town home, 40 years-worth of paint layers the ruptured graffiti highway, and on the nearby hillside stands the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the only structure truly safe atop its solid coal-less ground.
Flowers, cold from the dew,
And autumn's approaching breath,
I pluck for the warm, luxuriant braids,
Which haven't faded yet.
In their nights, fragrantly resinous,
Entwined with delightful mystery,
They will breathe in her springlike
But in a whirlwind of sound and fire,
From her shing head they will flutter
And falland before her
They will die, faintly fragrant still.
And, impelled by faithful longing,
My obedient gaze will feast upon them
With a reverent hand,
Love will gather their rotting remains.
Examples of Romanesque-revival architecture in Mountain View Cemetery.
Architects of the Middle Ages used the Romanesque forms to build massive cathedrals, but the physical limitations inherent to this style meant that the cathedrals could only be built so large. Eventually architects developed the pointed arch and ribbed vaults that led to the birth of the gothic style in France in the twelfth century. (𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳, 2004)
📢 SOUND ON 📢 So here I am sitting at a grave in a cemetery all in my feels alone while Kent is off taking pictures, and then this ominous music comes on the loud speaker and I thought I needed to take a video 😂 It was pretty cool though ⚰🖤

When I was a child I once went to the graveyard „Römerschanze“ in Reutlingen and I was searching for the grave of a classmate who had died of cancer. I didn‘t know where the grave was with only a little memory. But without searching too long I found it what was kind of a miracle for me (there are thousands of graves). For me this was like a Godly happening that I‘ll never forget. Because of my Christian faith I don’t fear death and I am God very grateful for this kind of strength! Picture 8: On the eighth picture is a skating playground close to my old church ICF Reutlingen. In World War II here US American aircrafts killed civilians on the field with their machine guns. Because I and some other people in this church had to fight with Demonic attacks my assumption was that this sin is the cause for Demonic presence in this area. I am just telling my thoughts because the knowledge what happened here did not help me to understand or to fix this problem. Pictures 1-7: a very nice little path to my former church and the building (picture 6) where it was or is (they are moving and it looked as if there were no Sunday services in it any more). Today is a very grey day and I like it especially because I want to walk longer distances (less bicyclists on the sidewalks, I love the leaves..). I met Jehovas witnesses whom I greet very friendly because I now have respect for them having learned to know some of them and their fidelity and Bible knowledge. The people on the bicycles on sidewalks also are target of my love although they are stressing me and maybe even endangering me (a lot of them have no respect and if you tell them that what they do is illegal in most cases they are unfriendly). #walking#cemetary#walkways#church#icfreutlingen#bikers#death#childhood#nature
