Falling/Failing can initiate learning 📚 🧠 
Controlling the failure can also give your body different “escape routes” 
Granted- ideally there would be more control on that handstand decent but my body has never been in that position before.

I’ll keep playing with this movement in future freestyles- piecing the puzzle 🧩 until it becomes a fluid trick.

🌏🏆NEW WORLD RECORD (pending)

Category: Most consecutive L-sit ring muscle ups (legs must be kept at 90 degrees throughout)

Repetitions: 7

I was asked yesterday by someone before I did my attempt, “What made you think of trying to break a world record?” My answer was that over the last few months I’ve openly challenged ‘the Internet’ (lol) to see if anybody was claiming to be able to do more than I could of this particular movement, but I hadn’t had any legitimate responses or seen any video evidence of anyone doing more than 3 in a row. That includes on Google search, Youtube, Instagram and Facebook.

As I’ve mentioned this particular #muscleup is much harder than a kipping or strict muscle up. It has the added complexity of having to keep the feet up at 90 degrees and uses a different transition on the way up which requires more strength and gives less rest - the muscles simply cannot switch off at all during the movement.

So I decided that if nobody would answer the call, that I would train this move specifically for a few weeks and try to set a new world record. If I’m totally honest, being something I’ve trained so hard for I was hoping for more reps (8+), but your performance on the day is what counts. I’m still happy with 7 as a benchmark.

And in a way I would compare this record breaking game to travelling - now I have the bug 😂 meaning I’m coming for more records... 😈 
In 2020 I will attempt at least 2 or 3 more world records in the categories of calisthenics and gymnastic strength. Watch this space! 👀
