❓❓❓So, what’s the #1 question I get?
I get asked A LOT about paint colors. 🎨
And my first question is “What is in the room now that you love?” ♥️
That’s because you should pick the paint color LAST. Yes, last. 💁🏻♀️
It’s really so easy. Choose your furnishings and decor and then choose a paint color from that!
Have a favorite bedding? Pick a color from that.
Have a gorgeous area rug? Pick a paint color from that.
Love your quartz countertop? Pick a paint color from that.
And, get your hands on some large paint swatches. I use large painted color boards.
And, always compare the color to white, not your current wall color, to see the true undertones.
Do you have a question for me? ❓❓❓

Schematic design is one of my favorite stages of design. Mixing in high contrast, natural elements and cabin-style patterns is going to create one heck of a cozy basement for one of my coolest clients! What makes your basement feel cozy and welcoming? Basements can be challenging due to the lack of natural light, so try creating an accent wall using @stikwooddesign or choose a dark paint color to add dimension!
