Sourdough yeast 🥖 The first time my yeast grew it was like christmas day 😍 There is nothing as easy as making yeast, yet it takes dedication to feed this little jar of life everyday 🙏🏼 ... giving the most tasty sourdough bread 🥖 !! So let's get cracking with this SOURDOUGH YEAST ... ps: LIFE !! Day 1: 50g wholewheat flour + 50g water + 5g of honey - mixe well and put it in a jar with a loose lid and put it on or near a warm place (eg. above a medium hot radiator)
Day 2: keep 30g of day 1 mixture (throw away the rest) and add equal amounts of water and flour (30g each) and mix well
Day 3-6: continue the same process as day 2 ... You should slowly see some bubbles appearing ... Which means your yeast it getting active !! Day 7: your yeast should be ready just like on the photo, don't worry if it's still looking dull, just continue the process for another few days (ps: mine didn't rise until 10 days the first time 😅) Baking day: your yeast is ready !! Make sure to continue feeding it everyday or else put it in the fridge to slow down the activation.
