Acid rain is mainly caused by humans releasing high levels of sulfuric or nitric acid into our air when burning fossil fuels. These acids will adhere to the rain droplets and fall to our planet where they are a detriment to our environment. Normal rain fall has a PH of 5.6, while acid rain is considered 4.5 or lower. The lower levels of PH upsets the balance in our waters causing some aquatic species to die and killing plants. When these chemicals are mixed with our waters and soils, we will end up ingesting these toxins which are also detrimental to humans. This was captured with Nikon D850 in a Aquatech elite 2 water housing with a breakthrough filter. Have a great day!

Over the years it's been a privilege as a resident photographer om Coral Bay to be able to photograph Manta Rays regularly.
Part of our job here in Coral Bay is to capture images of each Manta Rays belly. These images are then used by @projectmanta to identify each individual and track their last visit to the Bay.
We call this obtaining the 'belly shot' and the information we get is vital to protecting areas where Manta Rays frequent.
Sometimes the 'belly shot' isnt obtainable for a number of reasons.
It is always important for us to disrupt the individuals behaviour as little as possible, therefore alot of the time we have to back off and wait for a better opportunity.
In this photo you can see I'm sitting closely beneath the wing of a big female Manta Ray. As I swam down ahead of her to get the shot she decided to move beside me and passed very close. Unfortuantley I was unable to get the belly shot, however getting this close and not disturbing her while we looked at one another was an incredible experience.
It's always important when photographing wildlife to remain as respectful as you can to the subjects being. We all accidentally scare animals but given our overwhelming existence on this planet it's only fair to take extra precaution when approaching wildlife.
Mood layback - I was in a bad spot for this sick layback, the grabrail turn leading into it was what caught my eye and then finishing strong. You should have been there, it was slow, raining and not lining up 😂
