#Animals have always been near and dear to my heart. Last night I saw a video that was absolutely horrific here on #Instagram that moved me deeply. I won't post the video here but it's essentially a video of an elephant being hacked to death by villagers. The poor elephant suffered until the very end. Before the year is over I'd like to help a local #foundation called @animalhopeandwellness that's headquartered here in Sherman Oaks. Their mission is to help spread #awareness of such atrocities while actively helping animals that have been #abused (some severly to the point of death) #recover and find forever #homes. In the spirit of #giving, I would greatly appreciate any friends and family that can help with any #donation. I didn't really have a goal in mind and arbitrarily chose $10,000 but hopefully we can raise more. And if you aren't in a position to help at the moment then spreading the #campaign by sharing it with others would be helpful, as well. Link is in bio and all funds are directly deposited into their non-profit account. Thank you all in advance. And if you'd like to actively be involved in the campaign and would like to join the team, please message me so that I can add you on the GoFundMe campaign.
Posted @withrepost • @belinda_vegan Anonymous For The Voiceless lifts the veil that hides the horror of animal agriculture and animal exploitation. Once you know the truth, what actions will you take?
Will you continue to participate in a habit that is responsible for animal abuse, cruelty, suffering, and death. Animals feel pleasure and sadness, excitement and resentment, depression, fear and pain. They are sentient, aware and intelligent, just like us!
Of course, animals can’t compose piano concertos, or understand the laws of thermodynamics. But to their credit, however, they LACK some of the worst traits found in humans — deceitfulness, cruelty, greed, sexual treachery.
Humans and non-human animals desire the same, to live their life free from oppression. Yet the divide remains vast — on one side, humans enjoy extensive legal protections covering all aspects of our lives. On the other side, animals have virtually NO protections, even against the infliction of extreme pain and cruelty.
It’s hard to see much of a moral justification for this vast difference, beyond the fact that we humans make the rules. Isn't it time to align your actions with your values?
Stop supporting animal abuse. There is no justification!
