Day 48: Himara & Tirana, Albania 🇦🇱 + Budva, Montenegro 🇲🇪 I didn't sleep too well because mosquitoes attacked me all night long. I also had to wake up at 6:30 am to catch a bus to Tirana (not my favourite city but an obligatory stop today) and couldn't have the hostel's breakfast today because of leaving so early.
Also even though I had informed the reception that I will leave this early, they had still locked the gate around the hostel for the night and I couldn't get out. So I squeezed myself with my backpacks through this small gap I found and then I noticed I am on someone's yard, again. There was an old local man doing some gardening and he let me out from his gate. He looked a bit surprised that some girl is suddenly on his garden at 7 am even though he had locked his own gate for the night. Well I had to do what I had to do to get out and catch my bus 😂
It sounds like my day was off to a bad start and it actually was. Not going to sugar coat it. When I reached Tirana, I got annoyed right away. I don't know what is it about this city but it drives me nuts. Still, Tirana 0/5.
Picture #2: During this trip I've got addicted to ice tea. There is so many different flavours and it is cheap. Sometimes even cheaper than a water bottle. And the strange thing is: sometimes 1,5 l bottle costs less than a 0,5 l one.
From Tirana I got a bus ride to Budva, Montenegro. In total I spent 11 hours on a bus today. When I arrived in Budva in the middle of the night, all the taxi drivers tried to rip me off of my money. My hostel had adviced me not to pay more than 5 euros for a taxi. I asked every taxi driver around but it seemed like they had made a pact or something because everyone said "15 euros". I was so annoyed and tired that when one man told me "10 euros" I just gave up and said okay let's go.
