This guy! We are so thrilled to announce that our wonderful leader Mark Ponter, Managing Director of #SikeleliSafaris, has been appointed to sit on the board of Directors at the @africanwildlifefoundation (AWF) - Canada. They could not have picked a better guy: humble, passionate, and dedicated!
Founded in 1961, the AWF is a leading international conservation organization focused exclusively on Africa's wildlife and wild lands. The AWF stands today as the only conservation organization that implements Africa-led strategies and programs. You can learn more about their work - which we're honoured to be a part of - here: www.awf.org

Today is Endangered Species Day. These three beautiful animals — the African Wild Dog, Cape Vulture, and Black Rhino — and many many more, are at grave risk of extinction if we don’t act to protect them. Please consider donating to one of the many wonderful conservation organizations out there. A couple I like are the @africanwildlifefoundation and @nature_org. Comment below and tag your favorite environmental charity to share more options for contributing. 🙏
Now I can't believe that I forgot about this one! This is my last photo from Kenya and it's definitely one of my favorites (also my only "landscape" shot from Kenya!). As we were driving back from the wedding, I looked back at the sun setting and saw this incredible scene with layers and layers of acacia trees. There was so much dust in the air from our truck that everything had a beautiful golden glow to it! I yelled up to our driver to STOP STOP, hopped out, and snagged some shots of this tree as the dust started to settle. No more than a minute later the scene was basically gone, as all the dust we kicked up had blown away. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm now headed to Washington for a few days, so I'm going to take a break from posting photos from Africa. Once I get back though, it's on to sharing my photos from Ethiopia!
