So...How did we actually end up making this crazy event happen? (Continued story from my last post❗️)
How did we overcome the paralysis of fear?
We dived in head first.
Once I had realized that it was just fear holding me back, I decided to try out a strategy I'd heard other first time entrepreneurs use:
Counterbalance fear by just committing to the point of no return and trusting that we could figure out the details later.
So that day we sent out the invites, we brought on crew members last minute, and we paid the down payment for our videographers.
There was no turning back.
I'd heard many times that when your back is against the wall you find a way to make something happen.
We needed that to be true for us.
But then...more obstacles popped up...from the property manager at the venue barging in and telling us we didn't have permission to host an event...
To our speakers even arriving late the day of the event... and generally anything else going wrong that could go wrong.
Interestingly though, the closer the event got the more I stopped focusing on those obstacles and switched focus to the idea that if we ended up helping even one person it would be worth it.
Sure enough, we somehow figured it out!!!
From adding a new speaker the morning of, to switching up the entire event structure 15 mins before we started...
We even became friends with the property manager and actually invited him to come!!
It all came full circle when I heard one of the most powerful lines from one of our speakers:
“Making on audacious move on whatever inspires you is what separates the trailblazers from the rest”...
This was our audacious move!!
We found a way..."there's always a way!" @alexbanayan
Do you guys agree? Is there something you’ve wanted to do but have held back on because the future was uncertain?
