Heard today that the street market along Cô Giang, in Saigon's District 1, is closing down/relocating in October. And so another piece of what makes the city Saigon disappears. Development and progress is all well and good, when it actually happens. However, after 8.5 years in the city I struggle to think of a single tangible benefit the so-called 'development' has brought to the city.
Anyway, get along early morning to Cô Giang while you can.
